cNp
Revival was at the weekend here in the UK and I set up 5 Vectrexes on the stand and showed my 2 games plus a host of other games from other home brew luminaries... a few photos of the Vectrex stuff... Full album with all the arcade and other stuff here: www.flickr.com/photos/cnp/albums/72157667176851197
xybot67
What kind of sorcery is this? Star Wars arcade running on the Vectrex!!
+-^CrossBow^-
What kind of sorcery is this? Star Wars arcade running on the Vectrex!! Not completely...no. Basically there exists now the ability to pipe in the vector information from a computer running the rom in MAME into a vectrex. So MAME is still running the rom itself, but the video and control is handed over to the Vectrex. Without the logic to worry about, the Veccy is able to reproduce the vector graphics from vector games. That is my basic understanding of what is happening. I'm sure someone will chime in with far more details on how it actually works.
Mayhem
Nope, that's spot on. The Vectrex is basically just being used as a display. Here are my photos from the event: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mayhemers/albums/72157696448972444
fiddlepaddle
I don't think I've seen that many Vectrexes in one place since I saw them sitting on the shelf at Toys R Us.
ledzep
That looks great, more vectors!! I am looking forward to that Starmash Zone game, with an overlay no less! http://www.clockworkrobot.com/ From the same place that made the Nox/Death Chase boxed game? I assume/hope this one will come with a box, too. Man, finally, a Vectrex version of Battlezone!
Mayhem
You obviously didn't go through all the photos (yes, Stramash Zone is the full box/overlay/cart package)
cNp
Yep, and coded by Jim who did the Nox Game (Chris Binarystar did the Death Chase half)... same box printer and overlay printer as Big Blue so should all be nice and high quality
ledzep
You obviously didn't go through all the photos (yes, Stramash Zone is the full box/overlay/cart package) I didn't see a box for that game so I didn't want to assume anything. Goddamn, how I wish the Vectrex had lasted a few more years (or The Crash had been delayed) so that there'd be more official stuff available for it. But the homebrew community has been fierce for that little droid!

bigfriendly
Thanks for your vid. Only got to play the Vec-Trex a view times back in the early 80's and always felt like it was an underrated gaming system.
