vid.out
fried my atari 2600 (4 switch). accidentally reversed the wires on a home made power supply. [pop...fizzle] any suggestion on fixing it, or is it a lost hope?
Skatepunk60
did you try correcting the polarity then plugging it in again? If that dosent work theres some hope but itll probly take a lot of work to find out what went bad.

If you have got 9V and your 2600 still don't work then try to replace the regulator. My 500th post BTW!!!
+-^CrossBow^-
AtariInvader means the +5 volt 7805 Regulator. On the four switch unit it is isolated by itself on the main board in the lower left corner. You can't miss is as it is usually screwed down onto a big square of solder about 1" by 1" in size. Those are usually the first thing to go on a 2600 anyway (And the big ass 2200uf Cap on top!!). They are cheap and easily found at Radio Shack. Good Luck! Atarinvader
The conections should look like this: | 7805 | -------- [] [] [] Looking at the from the top circuit, the left is 9V in, center is ground and and the right is 5V out. I'd check it with a meter to make sure your getting that 5V before you go replacing. [ 04-10-2002: Message edited by: atarinvader ]
