I kinda want one...

It's not hard to get sucked in with the thing. The unique design choice makes it more appealing as you have less excuses not to use it depending on gaming tastes. Combine that with the usual 1st/2nd party stuff and now for once some solid third party variety and it's not that hard to find a few things to make it worth the effort.

Not sure if our forum is the best plac to have this answered, but is t possible to easily transfer progress from one Switch to another if you have connected family accounts with Nintendo logins for each person?

Not that my kid is into this kind of game ...let alone stuff like Fortnite. I know this is both good and bad.

She loves paper.io which is basically an online multiplayer game of Atari Surround.

Nintendo has a family cloud backup service for up to 8 accounts, so it shouldnt be hard if you subscribe for (I think) $40/yr. At setup you can transfer from an existing switch but I think thats just for replacement purposes.

Let me fix something for you. The Nintendo Switch Online service will come in at $19.99 per year when it launches fully in 2018. There will also be $3.99 per month and $7.99 per three month options for those who are more reluctant to commit.

I don't know all the details, but they're promising a strong (total in time possible?) NES library if not maybe more consoles later. Cloud services. Family for up to 8 on one account services. Other random stuff I guess that's common to other things with chat, voice, etc. I think it's ready in September, if not then, around that point as it's out this year.

Ironically enough my daughters 14th birthday is tomorrow and I also purchased a switch for her. And, I own one as well. Nothing wrong with having more than one ;) It is an excellent console as well as handheld and has brought me into the current game scene in ways other consoles did not. Absolutely love the machine as do so many others I know.

im on the fence, but have been holding out for the Switch to not be as 'new'- I did see that Diablo 3 is coming out for it, so that might put me over the edge, lol.

Portable Diablo 3? Yes please! I enjoy the game, plus theres tons of other titles out there too.

Will it replace my trusty 3DS? Only time would tell!

All I can say is stop holding out :) I held out for the entire first year of the console and I regret that. I was late to the game (on the fence as you are) but certain titles really got me pumped to get one. The first game I played and completed was Odyssey. And man, wow, I will never forget this game. Just the pinnacle of video gaming is right there in my opinion in just the one title. Of course I have had many experiences with this console since my purchase around 6 months ago...and the collection of games has grown from the one to nearly 100.

This is a pretty bold statement as I love so many consoles from my youth, but as of right now my favorite console of all time is the Switch. It is just that damn good. Just my personal opinion mind you ;)

The Switch is a great console/handheld hybrid, and I love mine! It's totally worth picking one up.

While Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey were what sold me on it (and they are both great!), I wasn't prepared for how hooked I became on some of the eShop titles. Yes, you can get a lot of them on other consoles, but having them all on one device you can both bring with you AND play on a TV is really great. Some standouts include Blaster Master Zero, Cave Story +, Golf Story, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, Saturday Morning RPG, Sonic Mania Plus, and more.

Lately, I've been hooked on Owlboy. Man, this is a great game.

Owlboy looks interesting, but I can not tolerate a Super Metroid style game without an overworld map that grows as you walk places. This isn't the 1980s anymore I refuse to sit there stop and go using graph paper as I sure as hell won't remember it and I don't like the idea of maybe wondering and hoping someone with more time than sense did it for me already with some downloadable picture. It's a damning oversight as the game looks like it could be fun, but that stuff sucks the life out of me entirely care wise for that game or any of the style. It's why I really can't play Metroid 1 or 2 anymore.

My wife and I got a Switch for our daughter as her primary birthday gift (which is tomorrow). I spent tonight setting up the system and playing Mario Odyssey. And now I want to buy a second one just for me to play.

And people scoffed when Nintendo said they expected households to likely get multiple switches. ;)

Well, I was one of the scoffers. So far I've held out, playing the system after she goes to bed. ;)

Diablo 3 in portable form, though. My goodness. Over the last 6 years I have to have put 2000+ hours into the game. I have a Demon Hunter on PC with 400 hours all by himself. I've got it on PC and PS4. What's one more version?

I've been considering replaying D3 a bit lately having had to reinstall this computer when I got the replacement drive. But with the Switch release I'm kind of wondering if that may be worth a try. I don't have the necromancer package on PC anyway which it has and the original+reaper PC releases I got for $30 together on a black friday a couple years back or so now so it has been awhile and i'm not that invested in it.
