Flojomojo
Per this discussion ... http://atariage.com/forums/topic/280831-what-was-the-jaguar-truly-capable-of/?p=4090179 Maybe a dedicated space to play "what if?" games, and a place to move topics that get too far into the counterfactual domain? It could potentially kill off the Jaguar forum, but could be a fun place to post. What if Nintendo stuck with Sony, what if Atari distributed the SMS or NES, what if the 7800 came out when it was designed, and so on.
carlsson
Perhaps expand the idea to a Classic Gaming Fiction subsection where those What if-discussions would share space with pure fiction. Every now and then we've got aspiring authors asking questions what existed or was possible at one time in history, discussions that would fit rather well.
MrMaddog
Hey, I'm up for a what-if subforum for fun cause I got tons of ideas. It's a shame that the OP in "those" threads was doing them to be a dochebag troll...
Lost Dragon
Hey, I'm up for a what-if subforum for fun cause I got tons of ideas. It's a shame that the OP in "those" threads was doing them to be a dochebag troll... It did sour the experience somewhat discovering the OP was yet another attention seeking pri#k, but despite his intentions there were some interesting discussions being had. So yes, something creative should come of his attempts to troll this site and a sub form for the alternative history stuff would be good. godslabrat
I think there's a lot to be said for this idea. What If scenarios are fun, but generally not productive, and can derail discussion of more practical topics. Rule #1 would be that no one gets to claim authority on stuff that never happened. Granted, that should go without saying, but this is the internet.
