As a proud owner of a "GB-2000" version, I'm happy to discover that so many games were released on the console (I only have Block Buster on actual cartridge for now). Honestly, it's a shame that the console didn't meet with more success. Although it's nowhere near as good as the Game Boy, it's quite a good clone, and your website shows that some of its games looks interesting. Is the hardware so beyond redemption any good qualities would be lost, or maybe there's an emulator out there that would let you try without the hardware or something? I'm not looking to buy another system but that's just so strange now that I've had time to skim all the game listings and images in there. Clicking down through your list of games and looking at the pictures is way easier than waiting for the thing to boot just to figure out what each game is a clone of. I've had my supervision for many years, but because its awesome, "high resolution" screen is of such "fantastic" quality, I've really only been able to put decent time into supervision recently, with the release of the NT Mini FPGA fantasti-system. What's everybody's favorite Supervision game? I ask, mainly since digging through them myself gets a little disheartening. My current favorite is Fatal Craft--though I confess to only being lukewarm on it at best. I liked it enough to do the below video, anyway. I've got 35 or 40 games for it (all are already on your list, so nothing new to add). I wouldn't think they'd be too terribly hard to find with the right google search. I don't have the funds to blow on stupid garbage, but I am curious so that would solve it. Hardware wise, the biggest difference is the video display. The Game Boy include hardware sprites and scrolling (if I remember well). The Supervision only have a framebuffer (which explain the jerky scrolling on most Supervision games). While most games on the Supervision sucks (avoid all the Bon treasure games, except Juggler) there are decent ones on it as well, such as Super Kong, Tasac 2010 (a surprisingly capable shooter), Sssnake, Olympic trials (boring game, but amazing graphics and sounds) Super Pang, Police Bust, and Chimera. All those games, save from Chimera, are what you'd expect for early handheld games - rather simple, ports of arcade games, but they work decently, and in most cases, have decent music and sound, especially Sachen games. Chimera is a special case - a port of a C64 game! Isometric 3G game, quite lenghty and complex. If you like to have hardware, keep looking. Some rippers try to sell you Supervision for ridiculous prices - you might wanna look in Europe. I got a boxed GB2000 and a boxed bendy model for 30€ each. carts can be found under 5€ easily if you have patience as well. Tanooki Posted October 15, 2018 Share Posted October 15, 2018 I wasn't totally convinced it was all garbage looking at that site, just that I wasn't expecting something of the Gameboy either in actual game quality despite the fact as you showed it, the hardware is kind of similar in paper as you showed it. I think of it as a more basic Gameboy, a middle point between like the Gameboy and then the Tiger Handhelds/Game & Watch before it. It's basic like the tiger stuff, but not as so because it's not a segmented LCD, just don't expect the depth of GB stuff either. It's almost as if each game is like a non-3 to 5 sec overly basic mini game off Wario Ware titles that just goes until you're dead. I found roms for it online but haven't grabbed them as I've yet to find them all conveniently in a package and I really don't want to click though a 100 individual files and deal with that annoyance, plus I was away all weekend from the computer anyway. So if you popped in & downloaded them all early on, go back and re-download them all. I've also added quite a few additional scans, such as the packaging and inserts for the Hartung & Goldnation variations of the Supervision. And there'll be even more content added soon(ish); a few people were nice enough to send me some scans + photos their own items, which is very helpful as it saved me from having to waste MORE money on MORE Supervision stuff. There is value in obscurity and for those that will just about collect anything that has buttons on it its very useful to start using as a reference guide. I would really like to have an actual machine one day with a TV link, I've bidded on some before but not prepared to pay too high for something I couldn't video capture. The two TV link's I have seen go on eBay is way too expensive for me to consider. I never have picked up one of these supposedly really terrible handhelds, but some of the games still to me give off that vibe of being just so bad it could be good situation, like garbage old rubber monster tv shows and other weirdness people are compelled to watch for fun.
