Ha!  Well, technically I guess I'm considered "Gen-X" (born in '68).  I was fifteen when I received my good ol' 64.

Dude, GenX does not exist -- you are either a Millennial or a Boomer.  We are a forgotten generation.  Almost like life on incognito mode.

One of my friends moved straight from TI-99/4A to Amiga 500. I was in shock first time I visited him and saw the Amiga in real life for the first time, may have been some time 1988.

I have still never seen an Amiga in real life.  I remember reading about them in Computer Shopper, but have never seen one out in the wild!

We were almost all Atari except for the one rich kid that had a NES...

Thus if anyone still is looking for the full version of THEC64 and finds it online, this might be your last call before it entirely becomes a scalper market (unless it already is).

A few weeks ago when I was in England, I was able to buy TheC64 Maxi new-in-box at a retail store in a mall.

Right there on display,

I don't follow whether they still manufacture it, or if the store may have leftover stock from last year. Something tells me that perhaps the market for THEC64 has been saturated, so no point for scalpers to buy up the last items in order to resell at a higher price. When I look around at places here in Sweden who used to have it for sale last year, none of them still carry it. A few have the mini version, new or second hand.

$129pds or $129 U.S. is the MSRP IIRC. Good to see them still selling for that in the U.K. The last batch sold from the legit distributor on Amazon (Deep Silver) sold out long ago and scalpers are now asking $300+ for the thing. Definitely still a market for the Maxi at $130+/-, so bit of a shame they're no longer being offered at retail. Exactly what happened to the NES and SNES Mini's. Both spent very little time (understatement) at retail in stores, but could be had for years and years by the literal boatload on eBay for double-triple-quadruple the price.

I am hoping the market for the Sega Genesis 2 Mini holds out the same way, though I believe fewer will be produced due to shortages.  Right now it is an Amazon exclusive at $99, but I am willing to pay a little mark-up if it happens to appear outside of the Amazon channel.

The store's website (actually, it's a chain of stores) still has it listed as available.  I bought it from their Crawley store, though I saw it at their Brighton store, too.

My younger kid brother had the NES... I had my C64.  'Nuf said.  ;)

same here, but I did move into Sega later on. My youngest brother got our only ever NES, from a payout after some idiot drove over his foot.
