Curt Vendel
A couple of people ordered the new PLA78R (Right hand) version, just wanted to show everyone the update of the design. Both left and right versions come with built in Paddle control and a side fire button for the paddle. 7 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/285914-new-desktop-arcade-controllers/page/2/#findComment-4178427 Share on other sites
Jinks
Wow looks great! I paid 250 for one years ago with no paddle control. Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/285914-new-desktop-arcade-controllers/page/2/#findComment-4178433 Share on other sites
Curt Vendel
Thanks... Im trying to be reasonable with the cost for these. After the New Years Ill have a dual stick one available... Next item on the agenda is the PLA52 controller for the 5200... that one should turn out really nice. Just waiting on some final pieces to arrive so I can complete 2 reference units and send one to Atari Brian who said he would fully test it with all 5200 games. 3 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/285914-new-desktop-arcade-controllers/page/2/#findComment-4178473 Share on other sites
Curt Vendel
Please consider making a 7800 version with a paddle controller. You can't forget games like 7800 Circus Atari. Allan Allan... you asked.... I delivered :-) 4 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/285914-new-desktop-arcade-controllers/page/2/#findComment-4178476 Share on other sites

Curt Vendel
Wil there be a dual stick model for Robotron and T:ME SALVO? Hi, Yes... I have a dual stick version I've designed, both for 9 pin and USB so that'll be after the New Years... right now I just want to get things into a good production line on these controllers and then introduce the other variants and specialized controllers after the New Years... Now someone needs to code Crazy Climber for the 7800! 4 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/285914-new-desktop-arcade-controllers/page/2/#findComment-4178724 Share on other sites

+-^CrossBow^-
All the 7800 controllers have the paddle installed and are currently priced at 89.99 each on the website. Put my order and payment for one earlier today. 3 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/285914-new-desktop-arcade-controllers/page/2/#findComment-4178752 Share on other sites

Inky
What's the "paddle fire button" for? There's a couple 2600 pinball games that use the paddle buttons for the flippers. I'm guessing for a pinball table feel. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/285914-new-desktop-arcade-controllers/page/2/#findComment-4178898 Share on other sites

I figured it would just use the fire buttons that are mounted on the top of the controller. Are they not pinned out the same? 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/285914-new-desktop-arcade-controllers/page/2/#findComment-4178908 Share on other sites
Atari_Warlord
I finally clicked on this thread after ignoring it for awhile. Almost missed another great product. Looking forward to the specialized controllers and 2600 version too. Curt Vendel
What's the "paddle fire button" for? Normally you'd have to use the joystick since the paddle fire buttons are mapped as left and right joystick directions. So instead of having to use the joystick, you can use the side paddle fire button which makes it much more ergonomic and convenient. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/285914-new-desktop-arcade-controllers/page/2/#findComment-4179160 Share on other sites

Curt Vendel
Curt are these sacrificed vintage paddles or new parts? Using original paddles, I've got cases of them. They are all refurb'd with contact cleaner and running very smooth and accurate. 3 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/285914-new-desktop-arcade-controllers/page/2/#findComment-4179163 Share on other sites
Curt Vendel
I got a few emails from people that were skeptical on how I was doing an all in one joystick and paddle controller, some even said you can't do that... I was trying to do this a few years ago and a few people didn't think it was doable on one controller port. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/260387-help-me-incorporate-a-paddle-controller-into-a-7800-arcade-stick/ 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/285914-new-desktop-arcade-controllers/page/2/#findComment-4179473 Share on other sites
