manterola
I was playing Montezuma revenge from the sdcard when suddenly it got stuck with the screen picture corrupt with horizontal lines and a persistent sound (noise). So I turn the flashback portable off and the on and it booted and everything looked back to normal. But after 30 seconds or more it happened again. After I turned it off and on it was back to normal but just for a few seconds. Every time the normal state lasted less and less. Now not even get to the Atari logo screen. This happened after the second time I charge it connected to the windows PC.l USB. Any ideas? Is there a way to factory reset it?
thetick1
I would guess a cap got fried ? No idea why other than surely very cheap parts are used. Best to get a new one from manufacturer unless you are comfortable and willing to attempt to look at the electronics board inside.
Flojomojo
My guess would be low battery. Give it a full charge if you haven't already done so. Failing that, I think thetick is right, it's broken. If you like it it's not super expensive to buy another.
thetick1
My guess would be low battery. Give it a full charge if you haven't already done so. Oh of course the obvious is likely. I probably should not assume everyone knows to plug it the USB connector to power. I actually think it's a blown cap as when battery dies on mine it just shuts off with no odd screen artifacts. And very odd things tend to happen to electronics when caps go bad as voltages and currents drastically change which among many symptoms are short (timewise) wacky artifacts on LCD screens. @Imanterola .. Is the bright red charge me LED button on ? Edited January 24, 2019 by thetick1
