This is actually Superrune's picture from the C64 version. So you're not planning on using extra color enhancements ?

It would be great if a conversion as close to the original C64 one could be included  (One my favorite pictures ever at @ 160 pixels ) but perhaps you don't have the space for it ?

Pure definition of irony!  You're telling someone to include a different title screen.  BAHAHAHAHAHA - maybe the screen should flicker.  I kid - but I have to mention this.  Because you know - discussions about daring to tell the developer of a title what he should use as an intro (or title) screen.

You are right. But I think Tix got Spark's(Superrune?) version to display on the A8, with the current colors, which I re-used. 🙂

Space wise I could easily replace what is there(around 7600 bytes), but I am crap at art(and music).  I could use one of the other versions in this thread if anyone has an Atari format or if anyone has the raw data.

Hey @Ute, glad to see you back man !

indeed this is my iteration of Spark's original, I named it the golden dragon, feel free to use it or not..

Now regarding the game, are you still planning to use my new set of sprites ? if yes I might have something more for you 😉

Hi Tix!

Thanks, I like the title screen myself, I think you did a great job.

Yes your new sprites are in there as well as a version with the old sprites. I was planning on  releasing Tuesday, so if you can get them to me before then that would be great!

An alternate version with your sprites would be cool.  But we want the original too.

Try following the discussion without skipping every other post, it'll prevent you from spitting nonsense...

Thanks, great job. It's a lot of fun and sits nicely next to the original classic. I like the updated title music, and hi-res font.

Having the title screen in 4 colors is fine; the original was 4 colors too; so, it doesn't seem out of place; and the new title is better artwork anyway. Plus, it could always be updated later...

One has TIX's sprites, one is the DMX Ute original

Sadly there are a few issues with the TIX version which is a shame as the new sprite designs are great and there are a couple of iconic sets that may not make it..

Congratulations on the release, Ute, Fantomas, TIX and testers!

Saw the VOD of ZeropageHomeBrew, was fun. I admit it looks really hard, and especially in Hard mode. But that comes with the territory.

I actually had the same problem with the C64 version, the perfect-collision generator made it way too hard to play with TIX's sprites.

The solution was to let the calculation routine run it's course on the classic sprites, then just copy the data into a binary file and use that.

The result was that the excellent TIX vesion plays the same as the classic.

I look forward to play this myself, but in PAL mode. The more relaxed speed is what I'm used to from the days of yore. :)

Hey Vidar, nice to hear from you man !

I was pretty bummed about the collision issues, hopefully they will be resolved soon..
