Thank you,👍 and again thank you for sharing 👍 1 hour ago, dmx said: The solution was to let the calculation routine run it's course on the classic sprites, then just copy the data into a binary file and use that. Could you be more specific? What data are put in the binary file?

I fixed one of two issues you had noted last time. The second issue - Random PMG noise - didn't seem like it affected game play much so...... I didn't fix it. I'm lazy, lol. 14 hours ago, MrFish said: Thanks, great job. It's a lot of fun and sits nicely next to the original classic. I like the updated title music, and hi-res font. Having the title screen in 4 colors is fine; the original was 4 colors too; so, it doesn't seem out of place; and the new title is better artwork anyway. Plus, it could always be updated later... Thank you! 10 hours ago, Marsupilami said: Thanks ! What is the difference between the 2 files please ? Just as Paul said, ROF.atr is the original sprites and ROFTix.atr are the updated good looking sprites. 5 hours ago, rdefabri said: Awesome - well done! Thank you all for the excellent work. Thanks for your comments!

I can play Tix's version all the way through on easy mode. The only issue is Hard Mode. The Sprites themselves look great! 5 hours ago, TIX said: Hey Vidar, nice to hear from you man ! I was pretty bummed about the collision issues, hopefully they will be resolved soon.. I don't think there is any reason to be bummed out, the gameplay is very fun with the Tix sprites, and I can win without cheating on easy mode - Meaning there is nothing wrong with them. I think it is a success, there is no reason to get down about it. They look really good! Edited October 5, 2022 by Ute

It's probably on the C64 only; what I presume is spritedata masks are calculated for collision detection. It's probably not present, or needed in the Atari version. But that also meant that I could re-use the "classic" masks for TIX's sprites, so the collisions behaved exactly the same way on both versions. Anyway, I had a go at it last night, and although I wasn't able to finish it in in the time allotted (I couldn't even finish the 64 version), it's perfectly playable in normal mode! The Atari version is strongly based on hardware detection of collisions with colors, cf.: There is no calculation for collision detection per se I think

Mclaneinc
Yes, Ute etc toned it down a notch, jumps were made easier..Glad it can be finished on easy..I wonder if TIX's 'other' additions made the build...Hope so, not going to spoil them, saw them during the beta test but it wasn't spoken about due to bug finding..
Yaron Nir
Great release thanks! one thing Ive noticed in my altirra is when the splash screen changes to title screen it take Mili-seconds in which you can see scrambled chars on screen. it’s best to shut down antic (turn it off by putting 0 in antic dma register) do what you need with screen (charsets , copy, blit) then turn antic back on. its nothing major , and just a suggestion for improvement. love both tix sprites version and original one. thanks again ! Anything in the works C64 or Amiga wise? Paul.. Hi Paul, sorry I missed this one. Cheers! Working on some stuff for the 64, but nothing really concrete yet. But some ideas are brewing, and unsurprisingly they often involve martial arts.

ivop
Nice effort!! I noticed a bug in the original sprite version. When Bruce jump kicks, there's a stray skin color pixel on his pants. I also noticed that between the title screen and the game there is garbage on the screen after pressing start. Other than that, it looks great. Cool rework of the tune, too!

Mclaneinc
Well a big thanks to DMX for writing this on the C64 and then sharing his code with us AND got involved with the actual setting up, and then Ute, fantomas and Tix for performing coding and sprite redesign and the beta testers for last minute bug hunting.. It is a hard game but great fun too..Some nice puzzles...

rensoup
Nice update on a great classic! Even though the project is done and dusted I made another attempt at converting the title pic... It's one of my favorites so I wanted to see what I could do with it.
