I have zero photographs of either me or my step-brother using our Atari 800 or the 400 we had for a year before then, and none of us playing our Light Sixer. I guess my step-dad got all those photos during the divorce, to the extent there were any to begin with. Oh well. I have the memories, most of the manuals, maybe 1/2 - 2/3rds of my original floppy disks and (bizzarely!) my Touch Tablet, lol. Keep 'em coming folks! As parents we saw the profound difference between passively viewing content on TV and controlling and engaging with it on the Atari. Kyle22 Posted July 22, 2019 Share Posted July 22, 2019 (edited) There are only 2 kinds of Keyboards: Good (Mitsumi) (Original PC Clicky), and Bad (all that China rubbish). That's how I see it. I'm typing on a 'Supposedly good' hp ProBook 6550b, and I am forced to type on these little square buttons with very little 'feel' and very little travel. This so-called 'business-grade' hp has a TERRIBLE keyboard compared to a real Mitsumi. Edit: This is re: 400 kb's mentioned earlier. Harry Staff and Dave Beech - two mates back then - at Harry's home in the UK. Sadly Harry would have passed now - as it's highly unlikely he would have reached his 80s or 90s? There is a Sony Trinitron TV hooked up to the 800 with Miner 2049'er running. My own setup would have been an Atari 800, 810 with a Philips 10" portable colour TV. I chose this particular TV so as to be able to take my whole setup to various computer club meetings - which I would attend to show off the Atari 800. Though I had a 35mm SLR - I did not take any photos of myself nor my setup, etc. The only photos I took - were for reference purposes - that of screenshots of various coin-op games I particularly liked. In the picture, you can see my 800XE (which I still have) and an XC12 on top of a stereo casette player, which provided sound output for my Atari since my B&W TV used SECAM video system (which did not deliver sound on the same frequency as image). Same period - closeup of 130XE. Later that year, the ST pushes the XE aside - the XE now hosts a BBS - two US Doubler 1050's!
