toddtmw
Someone was asking about these in a topic somewhere, but I can't find it. I didn't make this, but I noticed it today. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3626730 This is actually for the 800's that originally had screws. It also has a cover for incognito to make it easier to access the memory card.
_The Doctor__
Yes it's for the 800's without the aluminum screw risers... looks great....

DEFINITELY useful, and preferably on a darker tone if possible (if not, red is fine). HOWEVER, regarding the expansion-bay cover, I have mixed emotions... this finally motivated me to answer something I always wondered: That's 38+ C being radiated constantly, and guaranteed... Not sure about the thermal benefit or disadvantage of even more coverings, as the expansion bay has little to no open vents for extra heat dissipation... toddtmw
Seems like it wouldn't be any worse than the stock atari cover?
Faicuai
Seems like it wouldn't be any worse than the stock atari cover? Not sure how you concluded that, but that's precisely what's does not seem clear. The front, back and side-walls of the expansion-bay (shields) are rather flat and thick. Seems to me like they could absorb heat faster than they can dissipate it. However, the top metal cover (attached under the top plastic lid of the bay) is much thinner, and has 90-angle shoulders that fit on the L/R top sides... so in theory, heat migrates slowly to the top and gets absorbed and some should get transferred to the sides... (only place I see something happening). We need to consider this, because Incognito may not well be the last expansion for this architecture, especially when there is a PBI-bus available on it. Now, the (nice) plastic cover suggested here will fill the whole bay, and will be sitting between the electronics and the top-lid. Seems to me more like a potential heat-build up, than status-quo, though. Only way to know is to build one, install it, and then run the machine for a while a take temp readings with and without it. (NOTE: I recently saw that the top is grilled, so that may actually help...) Edited May 31, 2019 by Faicuai

I may take you up on that offer, assuming it extends to random people like myself? These quick release latches would be far more convenient than the screws that are currently holding down the card bay cover on my recently-acquired, later-model 800. -P-
