Sealed Atari 2600 Junior on eBay...only $3k LOL

Recommended Posts

Looks like a $3,000 Atari 2600 Junior just went up on eBay. Sure, it's sealed, assuming that tape is the original, but I'm guessing he'll wind up getting closer to $100 than $3,000. Yikes!

Ha...I had been dealing with him locally on a lot that he picked up but he wanted an insane amount. He estimated the worth on the Junior alone to be $500. But he said he had no figures to base that on so...?‍♂️

Will be interesting to see what it goes for.

I believe that! This joker wanted $1,500 for two CIB 7800s, that "NIB" (assuming the tape is to be believed as original) Junior and a box full of 45 common sealed games (17 2600 and 28 7800). I passed!

This "sold" for $157.50 but it didn't meet the reserve. Who knows how high the reserve was. His loss, I would have taken $157.50 if I owned it!

UPDATE: turns out his reserve was $399.99. Yikes.

Ha! This guy is too funny. He literally texted me asking what he should re-list it for and I told him not to expect to get much more than that previous "winning" bid of $157.50. So obviously the smart thing to do is to re-list it for $800! ?

This is what I see on my screen.  Maybe it sold or maybe it didn't.  Maybe the buyer pays for it or maybe he doesn't.  It doesn't matter.  People list things for stupid prices all the time and sometimes they do sell.  I don't know why you guys are so preoccupied with this one.

Lol...you're on the Auction Central section of the Marketplace on AtariAge. If this topic doesn't interest you, I suggest looking elsewhere!

Another poster asked what happened to the listing and I answered him.  You in turn expressed skepticism that it sold, so I produced evidence which appears to show that it did in fact sell.  Simple as that.  Beyond that I really have no interest, since I know that a seller that's legitimately interest in doing business will price an item accordingly, otherwise they're just seeking attention.  I generally pay no mind to people that seek attention but feel free to carry on.

What's going on with eBay where unsold items show as sold? Absolutely ridiculous and have noticed this for a while now. Another typical modern software "glitch" that they're all too happy ignoring because it helps drive prices or what?

Little wonder when you see classic gaming/computing items at garage or estate sales today, they're often accompanied by a sign asking a silly price claiming "that's what they're going for on eBay".    :dunce:

I've noticed that, too. I bought an Atari 2600 cartridge from eBay a while ago, and I couldn't find the listing for that item anywhere afterward. It's been like that for a while, and I think that problem needs to be fixed.
