+DarkLord
<At the moderators request, moved here> Okay, I have a bought brand new, never used copy (1 of 2, keeping the other one) of the Atari Jaguar CD game "Gorf" up for sale. Normally, I avoid Ebay but after some research and past sales history, I decided to list this item on Ebay for its potential. These were released in a limited run, so I hope someone from here gets it. Good luck all and thanks! PS I think I sadly/badly overpriced this item so I'm opening up the Ebay auction to accept offers. Please don't be afraid to make any offer. Someone is going to get this, I'd prefer it to be someone from here and not some scumbag collector or reseller. https://www.ebay.com/itm/113932293499 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/297642-atari-jaguar-cd-game-gorf-for-sale-moved/ Share on other sites

Yeah, typically if you see a reserve, the starting bid price will be $9.99 or something super low, since the seller is already protected by the reserve. Strange to go with this approach of a high starting bid AND a reserve. Usually it's either/or! I googled the sales history on this game and found a few mentions of $500 sales and even one that went for $710.00, so I made an assumption. I assumed there was an actual demand for this game because of its rarity and limited run status. I assumed wrong. My mistake, and I apologize for that. If you're paying close attention, you notice that I've been trying to adjust things ever since. PS BTW, the reserve is $1 higher than the bid. Way things are going, not sure when I'll go back... 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/297642-atari-jaguar-cd-game-gorf-for-sale-moved/#findComment-4378263 Share on other sites
+DarkLord
I've adjusted the price downwards again, for anyone who is still interested. This has been an educational experience for me. I've heard rumors of the general "toxicity" of the Jaguar forum at Atari Age but this is my first real experience with it. Still can't believe my first, original post was locked by the moderator. Wow. Anyway, I've had some offers and they are close to the new price so I hope this will be over soon and someone will wind up with a nice item. I was going to sell a Jaguar unit with about 10-15 games but I've now had second thoughts. My brother has always wanted one and he has 3 young children at home so I'm thinking that would make a great Christmas present. They'll love it and less stress on me. Thanks to everyone who has responded. I'm taking all comments in a constructive manner. Live and learn, eh. Thanks again. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/297642-atari-jaguar-cd-game-gorf-for-sale-moved/#findComment-4378274 Share on other sites

Wow. As I told someone else yesterday, most topics in the Jaguar forum are fine, but there certainly are threads that spiral out of control more often in the Jaguar forum than the rest of the forums here. I locked your earlier thread since it went off the deep end through no fault of your own. ..Al Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/297642-atari-jaguar-cd-game-gorf-for-sale-moved/#findComment-4378302 Share on other sites
