@16kRAM - Can you double-check the atr that you provided? It's still misbehaving.

@Sempo Apologies. Not sure where things went sideways, but after rebuilding, this image that I just tested has a different md5sum than the one I shared earlier.

$ md5sum n-handler.atr
6e5a429517ea5bf9f19d14df7af861bd n-handler.atr

n-handler.atr

First test with this one looks good. Thanks for the quick fix!

Not sure if this is where I should be posting this, but I’m trying to create .atr files of my floppy disks, and when I go to boot DOS (mounted on Fujinet drive #1), it goes to memo pad.

I don’t have a USB cable to externally power the device (and very few plugs since I have the Atari 800, 810, and monitor all plugged in).

Is there a workaround that allows me to delay the 800 boot process so it lets the Fujinet drive load?

If you have version 1.4 of the firmware (you can see what version you have, inside CONFIG), your FujiNet should boot quickly enough to allow the 800 to power the FujiNet from the bus and have it ready for boot.

do you?

Nope I have version 1.2, so I’ll have to figure out how to upgrade :)

* Grab FujiNet-Flasher for your platform, here: https://github.com/FujiNetWIFI/fujinet-flasher/releases/

* Ensure that you have a USB cable that you can plug into said PC running the flasher, that has all its pins (not just a power cable)

* Run the program, select the appropriate port for the flasher, select Atari 8-bit, and select version 1.4.0 (The latest). Press Flash.

It will erase, and re-flash the device. Once done, it can be used.

Downloaded the flasher, but when I launch it, it wont let me select the port.  I have the unit connected via USB, but when I go to flash, I get "no serial port found!" error.

You probably miss the needed driver.

Check https://fujinet.online/download/ for details.

Until you get a cable, hold the START console while powering on the 800. You'll hear a beep. Then press RESET.

Tried this - no dice.  Still have a blank pick list for serial port and it still gives me the "no serial port" error.

Yes, I was doing this.  But once I mount a virtual disk and I press option to reboot, it goes to memo pad.

as stated before, you need to update the firmware. if windows is saying no serial port, you need the older driver and must disable windows updates for ch340 and ch341 devices, that's been an issue since sometime last year.

You'll have to bear with me - I'm not the most technically minded person :)

I downloaded the flasher, then downloaded the older driver.  Extracted all of it into a single folder, then ran the flasher.  It didn't give me any options to pick anything from the serial port.  As I read your post, there's an additional step where I have to disable Windows updates for ch340 and ch341 devices - how do I do that?  I'm guessing somewhere in Device Manager?

you need to install the older driver,

there is a complete step by step on multiple windows forums on how to disable updates for specific items within each specific windows flavor.

I set my windows to only download but not install updates, then I set it to ignore the updates I do not want. It is a clickable choice that way.

Huh? I never did disable any updates.

Just install the driver from the Silicon Labs website, reboot for safety and plug in your FujiNet.

The only confusing part is that there is more than one driver pack for Windows. You need the "CP210x Universal Windows Driver".

Most of the times Windows does not recognize the device, it is because the USB-cable has no or bad data lines.

I may be thinking of the other driver for sdrive max or some other device if it isn't 340 0r 341. But he said he copied a driver to his folder, but did not mention installing the driver. I suggest installing the driver and once working, not allowing updates to screw it up.

Looks like I didn't complete the install.  I've now fixed that and updated the Fujinet device with the flasher.  Testing to see if the firmware fixed the issue of going to memo pad on reboot.

****EDIT - looks like that worked!  Thanks everyone for the help!
