Jarod
I put hundreds on roms on my Atari Flashback 9 and all games work except for 2. Draconian is one of them. The other is "Super Cobra the arcade game" which is a homebrew port to the 2600. Does anyone know why these games don't work on the flashback 9? All the other homebrew games work. I also tried deleting spaces in the names to get some roms to work. But those I mentioned are the only 2 that don't. +SpiceWare
Draconian and Super Cobra Arcade use the CDF bankswitch/coprocessor scheme and require Stella 5.0.2 or newer, per wiki the Flashback is based on Stella 3.9.3 so it doesn't know how to emulate CDF. CDF continues the long tradition of adding extra hardware! inside an Atari cartridge. I have a RetroN 77 which can be upgraded to Stella 6. I haven't kept up with the Flashback so don't know if it can be upgraded as well, but there is an AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles sub-forum here that you should find helpful in that regard. +stephena
There is a version of the 3.x series that supports CDF; Stella 3.9.4. However, that was only ever ported to the R77, before we got Stella 6 working. So in the worst case, one could always use the 3.9.4 code as a basis for the Flashback, to at least get those games running. But in the long run, it's much better to get Stella 6 running on that device anyway.
