DeathAdderSF
From the interviews I've done with former Tiger staff – which are available for perusing on my website – third party support was just not something on their radar. They had licenses for practically everything, they had an inhouse dev team at their HK branch, and a local independent developer to handle the rest. They liked to have full control over their products, plain & simple. I'm not big into speculation, but who knows if their opinion would have changed if the game.com had been a runaway success? Personally I doubt it, but nobody will ever know. And most will never care. (Including myself.) dudeguy
Is this the de facto "Official Game.com Thread"? Always been curious about the system. Had the chance to buy a bunch of Game.com crap years ago, brand new, for practically nothing. not sure what prices are like now

Eww, is that what I've unwittingly created here? 46 minutes ago, dudeguy said: Always been curious about the system. IMPO it's far more interesting to research than it is to play. Be glad you passed on buying any of it. So far as prices are concerned, Wheel of Fortune 2, the ridiculous modem no one bought, and the compete.com link cable whose software support went seemingly untested by Tiger (except for Joust in Williams Arcade Classics) are the only ones that "deserve" to fetch high prices. Everything else should be able to be had for a song, though ePay greedmongers certainly hope otherwise. 1
Video
Unfortunately, yeah, this is pretty much the official com topic. Like death adder said, be glad you passed. I said I like the thing, and I do, but I've got a pretty high tolerance for crap too the unit and most games SHOULD go for cheap, but comes up so seldom, and eBay greed, no doubt make it pretty expensive. I should look it up, I'm still missing frogger and centapiede, probably some others. There was a topic a while back (or maybe mentioned in this one a few years back) about so.Some selling a nearly complete game.com collection for like $100, don't think it sold, but don't know. DeathAdderSF
Ah, Frogger & Centipede for the game.com : utter programming masterpieces. Centipede's the only game in the library that lacks an on-screen icon. Its title screen isn't programmed to show up. Frogger's on-screen icon often glitches out. And both games play far slower than normal if a second game is inserted in the system. QUALITY ASSURANCE AT ITS PEAK!! For some real fun, though: plug another cartridge in alongside Jeopardy!, launch Jeopardy! and enjoy the disaster.
+atari2600land
If anyone actually manages to make a homebrew Game.com game, please contact me. I'm one of the few people who can play it on a real game.com. I wish there was a way to make one. I'd put a pac-man-type game on it. If anyone comes across a way to code and compile a game.com game, let me know. I have a complete game.com collection. WOF2 was a gift, so I wouldn't sell it for anything in the world.
Video
I've had people ask for WoF2, which is funny since the system sux so bad, lol. No I wouldn't sell it. I've noticed issues creep up on my original 2cart com too, I'm pretty sure they didn't originally do that, but like you said, using 2 carts has issues. Half the time booting one game immediately when seleting game from menu, running janky (which is already saying something for game.com) and crashing/rebooting. Using only one cart at a time seems to fix the issues. I've got several machines, including the backlit "pro" (nasty, better than absolutely nothing, but just barely)
DeathAdderSF
Speaking of Jeopardy!, it doesn't even run on Tiger's official, in house emulator / debugger suite. It was slapdash all across the board, bay-bee!
