So, there's a really good chance that the following 3 screenshots are type-in programs from a magazine or book. Rybags Posted January 22, 2020 Share Posted January 22, 2020 I was most familiar with the Compute! ones, had the occasional C & VG as well as a subset of Page 6 and Atari User from UK. 1, 2 don't ring a bell but 3 - I have a feeling that Compute! had a reasonably advanced multi-platform Chess game at some point in the magazine, likely well into the C64 era. Rybags Posted January 22, 2020 Share Posted January 22, 2020 Can of worms now opened... I just have to chase up the magazine, got most on CD here somewhere. I fairly well remember this game or something similar having an assembly routine where they documented that it just pushed a whole bunch of return addresses onto the stack which optimised it's lookahead algorithms. Number one is called Space Caves...Not seen who its by yet.. Compute March 85 Not in my database, took a chance and did a size and bas file search for around 10K in Opus..
