After a couple of weeks off I got a new idea .  Well, it's really more of a combination of a lot of other game tropes.  Another ocean game !

Here is the very simple concept :

( Right now the 2 Player competitive, but I hope to do 1 player vs sharks and 2 player cooperative vs sharks).

 

You are a hungry dolphin.   The goal is to get more fish than your opponent.

 

You also must compete with hungry sharks who are after your lunch.

 

You also must surface for air when your air supply runs low.

 

If you are hit by a shark, you are stunned  for a brief moment.

 

You can collect starfish to use as weapons.  You can fire the starfish at your opponent or the sharks to stun them .

 

If you run out of air, you lose all your points and your accumulated starfish.

I found an issue where a fish was in the lower left corner too far over where the other half of it was showing in the lower right corner too. I tried to get a screenshot of it but the flicker got it and the fish didn't show up on the screenshot.

 

 

 Added game options. This is number at top right at startup. Hold select to change.  tap button to start

GAME 1 =  2 player competitive   First to 99 wins

GAME 2 = 2 player cooperative   vs sharks  .  dolphins need 99 , sharks need 33 to win

GAME 3 = 1 player vs. sharks  .  dolphin needs 99, sharks need 50 to win

made a few changes:

 

1. When stunned, player turns white so you know when you can move again.

2. stun lasts 1.5 seconds instead of 2

3.  added an additional fish color

4. Added a crab. The crab is worth 6 points, this adds a way to catch up quicker if behind

5. fixed issue where you would inadvertently shoot when starting game

 

I think if this ever gets release I will call it "Feeding Frenzy" instead of Fish Fight.

 

Andrew Davie suggested " Jump the Shark."  That is also good , but you do not actually jump the sharks .....

Fixed a scoring bug .

 

Turns out there is already a game called Feeding Frenzy . Fish Fight it is .

I guess there are no new ideas......

Thre fish game just came to me as I was working on a demonstration for the stat class I teach about an experiment involving dolphins .  So I “ came out of retirement “ cause i knew I only couikd finish it in about a week.  I didn’t know about the Feeding Frenzy game or I probably wouldn’t have started it .  

 

 I’m sure at some point another idea will pop up .......

But It has to be something that I feel I can pull off successfully with my limited abilities.  I don’t know Bb and most of my games are pretty much just your 5-objects -on -the -screen like 1981.
