Will the Coronavirus inspire any new video game?

Recommended Posts

Some ideas:

- A sandbox, perhaps similar to GTA but with some added elements

- A strategy game similar to the board game Pandemic

- An arcade game where you have to pick up food from a crowded supermarket

- A story-based indie graphic adventure about isolation during the quarantine

In "Dreams", a PS4 game that allows you to create your own games,  someone made a game called "The Last Roll of Toilet Paper".   You control a roll of toilet paper and have to jump from grocery shelf to grocery shelf and try to make it into a shopping cart while avoiding the viruses.

I thought there was already like a web or pc based game that has the spread of various viruses around the world and you as the bug see how many you can take out before the world adjusts.

Plague Inc? There was also a flash game version from ages ago called Pandemic.

Pretty sure it was Pandemic, have to be kind of specific to find it now given what's going on.   I remember it had to be about 10 years ago or so and you kind of play the role of the pandemic itself, mutate and change, see how many you can kill off before the world responds and destroys it.

It may have inspired someone to hack an Asteroids clone originally called Microbes.  Not sure if they were serious or not yet.

Made me think of the old 8 bit game 'Outhouse'
