how are the long horizontal lines done, like on battlezone and solaris?

im assuming its with missile sprites? stretched and then copied? and can this be done in batari basic?

Long horizontal lines can be done with playfield graphics lines. It can be done in batari Basic two different possible ways. Look at "pfheights" and "icing on a cake" in the bB manual on RT"s site.
