Yes. I did disassemble part of it and single stepped through the save. The block size is just 64 bytes.

Igor
I've seen some other carts that had a battery on them, that's yet another tech, but probably not worth emulating. I'm going to be starting on the updated menu this week.
sage
Is there a documentation for the API of the Cheapo card? I have the menu source for the RHQ one, but seem no one for Cheapo. Not that source code replaces documentation, haha.

I'm still yet to update my menu to the new firmware. I've got an incentive to do it now as the batch of 20 SD cards I've purchased only works on new firmware, not the old. So I'll have an update coming soon.

Igor
The new menu for the 0.08 firmware has been released! https://atarigamer.itch.io/elcheaposd-menu Here's what's new: Requires your ElCheapoSD to be upgraded to the 0.08 firmware Folder support (finally) Settings configurable in the menu directly (no more messing around with files) A new 'Atari Lynx' theme Font updated to be more legible Quick/approximate sort by default Some performance optimisations All the ElCheapoSDs from our store will come with the new firmware as default from now on. https://k-retro.com/21-elcheaposd-and-accessories

Igor
I'm working on a follow up update as some people reported some performance issues and also had a bunch of useful suggestions for improvements.
NeilT
Hi I am having problems trying to run a homebrew game called Berzerkoids on this flash cart. I have downloaded it from Atarigamer.com and it is an o file, which is not usable on this cart. I have tried to convert it to a LYX file using LYNXER50 which seemed to work, but I am now unable to convert to an inx file using make_lnx. I get this error message ERROR: Could not determine page size, please set via command line ERROR: (Your file is not of the correct length, it may be corrupted) Any help would be gratefully received. If you install the 0.08 firmware on the ECSD, it supports running O and LYX files now. Get my updated menu from here - https://atarigamer.itch.io/elcheaposd-menu The ECSD firmware is included in the downloads section, make sure you read instructions for that thoroughly or you will brick your ECSD. If you're stuck or in doubt you can reach out on Discord.
NeilT
Thanks for that. Will give it a try. Looking forward to trying the game out. Always liked Berzerk. Edited December 17, 2022 by NeilT

Igor
Doubt it as EOTB has a special ROM, I think it's either 1Mb or 2Mb, ECSD only has enough space for 512Kb ROMs

I have an ECSD and EOTB seems to run fine. It just won't save.
