vanman
Can anyone get me the "Atari 2600 Programming for Newbies" tutorial in one document? Thanks.
RCorcoran
I am almost finished converting this to a PDF. So far, it's 143 pages and that's leaving a bunch out. I can also convert the ENTIRE thread to PDF but it will be MUCH larger and contain quite a bit of discussion...
Dones
You have asked the same question three times already. Why don't you do it yourself?
RCorcoran
I have finished compiling this thread into a PDF. I have included commentary where appropriate and have also highlighted code blocks (per Andrew's suggestion). You can find it here: http://www.snipercade.com/atari/docs/2600p...programming.pdf File Size = 2.36MB Document Size = 145 pages Comments/Suggestions welcome. EricBall
I've been reading through RCorcoran's PDF (up to chapter 7 so far), it's very nice. However the commentary bits need some work (though I'm pleased to see that many of my comments have been included). Sometimes it needs a some additional context, or probably should be moved to another chapter (e.g. the discussion about mul/div in chapter 6 should be in chapter 4 and have the context of the 6502 ASM book.) RCorcoran
Thanks for the feedback. I tried to keep it true to the original thread (as best as possible) and it does get a bit "jerky" now and then. I even considered including all commentary, but noticed a good amount were laudatory comments or not related to the discussion at hand. I am willing to accept any/all feedback, good, bad or indifferent, and adjust the document accordingly. I want this to be a valued (offline) resource and do Andrew and the AA community justice. Would it help to restructure the document in such a fashion that the poster of the "comments" are included? I opted not to do so initially as it looked strange... As for moving content, I think for a first pass I'll leave the doc as is. Once we have a good sense for the flow, we can all decide where commentary/topics need to be placed (logically). RCorcoran
As a follow-up... is everyone o.k. with the Code comment blocks? Andrew asked that I segment the code better and change the text colour to make it easier to read.
+xucaen
I have finished compiling this thread into a PDF. I have included commentary where appropriate and have also highlighted code blocks (per Andrew's suggestion). You can find it here: http://www.snipercade.com/atari/docs/2600p...programming.pdf File Size = 2.36MB Document Size = 145 pages Comments/Suggestions welcome. The link has expired and a google search for that filename didn't turn up any results. Does anyone have the latest version of this? Thanks, Jim
