Saroo arrived yesterday and I have to say that I am impressed. Fast loading and so far every game I have thrown at it works like a dream. No more wondering wondering what Hyper Duel is like to play- It's great, my kind of shooter.

Did you have to update the firmware, or is the version that came with it the newest?

That sounds great! Would you mind sharing that seller, if they have more?

I am in the UK so it's a UK seller shansells-7.  I bought the Elite version with new chips instead of recyced ones.

It's been so far so good. I have had a couple of times when a game didn't load but did on the next try.  Two games with slight graphical glitches but nothing major and future updates may sort them out.  I must admit I had doubts about whether this thing could deliver, but now I'm all in for it.  So, for the forseeable future at least, the Satiator is  off my shopping list.  Now for the Saroo it is all down to how its long term reliability will pan out.

Suiko Enbu/Dark Legend:

The mid-to-late '90s were bad times for Data East. While this game doesn't play terribly, it comes off as generic despite being based off of the Ancient Chinese Novel, Outlaws of the Marsh. They should never have cancelled the port of The Cliffhanger: Edward Randy and included a two-game compilation of Dragon Gun and Locked 'n Loaded that supported the Stunner, 3D Control Pad, and Shuttle mouse.

Anyone have insights to the Japan version of Burning Rangers? I'd like to know if this is playable for a non-Japanese speaking person, since the JP version is so much cheaper. I'm interested in getting this, and the US version is unreasonably expensive, I'd probably have to sell a couple of my rares to get it.

I would suggest a saroo and amend the config in case https://github.com/williamdsw/saroo-configuration-list/blob/master/U/MK-81803/README.md

you do need to have a pc/Mac available to deal with the SD and config but it isn’t hard.

So told that applies only if you don’t care about adorning the shelf with the game case.

I think I tried the JP version but I found it not playable + Google

https://www.reddit.com/r/SegaSaturn/comments/ad6wgb/to_anyone_who_have_burning_rangers/

one of the answers

”I find the Japanese version unplayable if you do not understand spoken Japanese. Directions are given verbally by the Fire Chief Commander, and they are complex directions, such as "go up to the server room and take a right after the water tanks””

Nah, I completed Japanese burning rangers back in the day when it was new.  Then I couldn't speak Japanese. It was totally doable but of course there was more exploration as I didn't know where I was going 😅

I had the PAL version back then and I still didn't know where I was going, despite being told in english.😂
