+nanochess
The latest version of IntyBASIC is v1.4.2 and it can be downloaded from: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/286953-intybasic-compiler-v142-reloaded-with-new-features/ You'll also need an Intellivision emulator. There are 3 available: jzintv Bliss Nostalgia Bliss and Nostalgia are quite old and haven't been updated in some time. Personally, I'd recommend jzintv because its actively maintained and has a built-in assembly language debugger. The latest version of jzintv and the As1600 assembler for Windows, OSX and Linux can be found here http://spatula-city.org/~im14u2c/intv/ (select your platform from the turquoise links at the right) For other technical information on the Intellivision hardware you'll need the sdk1600 available from: jzintv-1.0-beta4-sdk1600.zip There is a manual in the IntyBASIC release but for more background information on the Intellivision's hardware, in the sdk1600 you'll find: \doc\programming\stic.txt - Information on the STIC's video modes and hardware sprites. \doc\programming\psg.txt - Information on the sound chip. Lots of useful resources http://atariage.com/forums/topic/248209-the-intybasic-compiler-official-thread/ and don't forget to visit the Intellivision Programming forum. Zendocon
I'm thinking this is a good place to promote the Portable Intellivision Development Environment I created, as an additional resource to help people who could use this contest as a starting point for future Intellivision game development but have heavy time constraints like I did. "Necessity is the mother of invention" as the saying goes. I've been keeping the documentation up to date, and I recently rebuilt the environment from scratch on two of my devices using my own documentation, just to ensure everything works. I also built a GUI-based development Suite to eliminate the need to write a bunch of BASH scripts yourself, and all the additional files you'll need are readily available to download on my site. I just updated my signature with hyperlinks to my website, but just in case you don't see it, here is the link to the page: http://www.midnightblueinternational.com/pide.php

Indeed IntyBASIC has come a long way since 2014, and now every year there are more tools that help to develop with it. In fact I was impressed by one of your first versions of the tutorial because I was able to compile IntyBASIC on my cellphone and run my own games! Of course, I'm using more a computer, but people accostumed to using pads and big cellphones can benefit greatly from your Portable Environment. Thanks! I'm glad to know somebody else has tried it out. That was probably back even before @intvnut and I got jzintv working with it, and I was using @jenergy's jzintv4droid app to playtest the games. Even then, that was vital to get my momentum back to writing games after all the years that had gone by. In fact, the environment as it was a year and a half ago is what I used to finish FUBAR, on a tiny phone display only 48 characters wide.
+DZ-Jay
Just in time for the programming contest, I've updated the IntyBASIC SDK to include the latest, bleeding edge IntyBASIC and development tools -- fresh off the oven! https://atariage.com/forums/topic/240526-introducing-the-intybasic-sdk/ This version includes a new "miniecs.bin" and the tools have been updated to include it automatically when loading the emulator, so you can run your ECS-enabled IntyBASIC. -dZ.
