atrax27407 Posted November 8, 2020 Share Posted November 8, 2020 There is a problem with the HORIZON RAMdisk emulation in Vn 225/226 of MAME that should be rectified in Vn 227 which comes out the end of November. I would venture to say, that since they are two different software packages, unless OoieGUI is dependent on the Horizon working correctly, in Mame/Mess, that it shouldn't matter the order of release. atrax27407 Posted November 8, 2020 Share Posted November 8, 2020 (edited) The problem is that a bug was inadvertently introduced in Vn 225 of MAME and was passed through to Vn 226. It is present in both. Using Ooeygui4, it is not possible to set up the HORIZON RAMdisk so it will work correctly in MAME in either version. Michael Zapf is aware of the problem and says it will be fixed in Vn 227 which is due out at the end of November. You can use Ooeygui4 but it will install a faulty emulation of the HORIZON. There is much more than the Horizon that is useful in Mame. Just my 2 cents worth.
