I think it's great that you keep working on it! I like the current fixed screen design better. 

Also the visual variety from stage to stage is great. One of the highlights of the game to me.

 

Out of curiosity: how do you design each screen? Do you use a tile editor?

I do use a tile editor. Makes long levels match up when flipping screens.
