goldengalaxiesgaming
How do I get jzintv running on retropie? I also tried lr-freeintv but that wouldn't work either. The video is just 2 minutes.
mr_me
Did you install raspbian and retropie seperately? And that might not be related to your jzintv install problem. Can you install jzintv not from source? Best to ask at the official forum. https://retropie.org.uk/forum/category/8/help-and-support Your other option is to install jzintv manually. I don't remember if I installed raspbian and retropie separately. I watched videos on how to install raspberry pie 3 years ago and just followed along. I don't know how to install jzintv not from source or manually. Do you know how I could do that? I am signing up to enter the official forum and will ask there. Thanks. mr_me
In the retropie jzintv install options what's the other option in the menu besides install jzintv from source. Installing it manually would involve downloading jzintv from the official website, putting it in the appropriate folder, giving it executable permissions, testing that it works, then manually configuring the emulation station menu interface. I don't have an rpi to test but I'll help if you want to try it. By the way, does freeintv work at all. It should work with some rom files. goldengalaxiesgaming
The only other install options are clean up or help. When I had freeintv I could see Intellivision in the menu and the roms but they would not work. Right now I am backing up all the files on my sd card and will try putting on a fresh new image. I hope I don't lose anything because I was able to get Atari 5200 games working and that wasn't easy.
mr_me
For freeintv did you put exec.bin and grom.bin in the following directory. /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS What game rom files did you try? Freeintv is a new emulator and might not be 100%, especially with homebrews. Edited November 6, 2020 by mr_me
goldengalaxiesgaming
Yes, I did put those files in the bios folder. I tried the Franken rom, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, 4tris, and a couple others. I tried putting the new image on my sd card but got an error message. Do I want to format the sd card first? mr_me
You could format but the image will overwrite whatever you format anyway. What error are you getting? With freeintv I'd first test with some basic mattel rom files. Be sure to unzip them out of any archive files. goldengalaxiesgaming
I tried 2 sd cards and formatted both. Now my raspberry pi doesn't work at all. I really appreciate the help but I should take a break from this because I've been trying for 2 days. If you think of something that will help let me know and I'll be in touch if I have any good new about this.
mr_me
You might have to extract the retropie img file from the download archive as it suggests in the instructions. https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/
