mr_me Posted November 9, 2020 Share Posted November 9, 2020 (edited) It should be noted that the Skiing and Space Hawk scores were done at Disc speed. The Frog Bog 545 scores should be noted as Fixed Arc. Bumpnjump, Vectron, Thin Ice, the atarisoft cartridges don't have any speed or difficulty options. Also Astrosmash and Sharp Shot NEW records need to be added along with the change Biffman mentioned about Dracula. ? The contest is still going on but mr_me smashed his old record in Vectron so that will need to be changed as well. Maze-A-Tron is being played right now for the first time so that will have a NEW record too. We had a small tournament last week and in fact another player also broke the TG Record, he got second with 34.300 points. So I would not be surprised if a competition here ends with 50k+ scores I played on PAL console, but with Controllers from Grips (console has RBY Mod and controller Ports mod), he made the arcade sticks. So I am not sure if that already would disqualify the game entry for TG. Would be a bit weird, cause I could wire them on INTV II and they would not even notice it probably. Al is, he has the record on TG..... EDIT: I have Flashback controllers that I use on my Inty II and Al has Flashback controllers for his 2609. It's all fine on TG.... So I am afraid TG has a loophole there and PAL players would actually play a slower game. To be frank, I dont think its that big of an advantage, in fact it makes the first 10k points a real slug, but its hard to proof that and so there should be a PAL and a NTSC category. I consider to find a way to film it, cause I could easily get 30k+ scores again (my old AA record was 30.750 and I have three other 30k+ games on that event), but I doubt they accept, cause if they compare they see the difference. In some cases there is a counter measure that balances out the different speeds... Like for example in Atari 2600 Freeway.... The PAL clock runs slower than NTSC but the chicken moves slower as well. So in Dragonfire, the knight probably moves slower and the dragon is slower... This is the argument that some people make and then they say it all ends up even... However, some games like Beamrider and BurgerTime have come into question based on those subs being PAL.... I have only killed one 100k shark in my entire life and that was more desperate luck than anything else..... Al and Matt are INSANE with that game...
