Maybe my words sounded a bit like "for free" but that's more your interpretation than my intention.. And please, a number of posts doesn't say anything about someone being nice, correct, loyal, clever, the exact opposite of all I just mentioned or whatever... When I read this "newbie" blah, I could also get a wrong interpretation of the forums spirit. But I still believe that everyone is welcome. Maybe my words sounded a bit like "for free" but that's more your interpretation than my intention.. I personally didn't read it as asking for a free ROM, so I never mentioned the free part. I mentioned CPUWIZ's second question. In my mind, that was a completely separate thought concerning why I might not be selling it right now. I wouldn't have been offended if anybody had asked me if I'd consider selling or giving the ROM away. I would have gladly replied to that question as soon as time allowed. I think there might be confusion on my last response, which is to be expected in a typing/text exchange. Maybe it was misunderstood that I did think it was an ask for a free copy. The offensive part was that it was not an ask in any form; It was a demanding way of saying I should. "...second question was completely ignored": The "second question" I referred to was asked by CPUWiz was, "What if he wants to make another run in the future, through another avenue (cough), for instance? " Please think about that. I hope it's more apparent now how assumptive and not considerate the following quotes are, versus asking me if there's a reason the ROM isn't released. This is what I meant by passive-aggressive. It was saying something sideways, hoping to get a desired result. QUOTE: "(I mean, the demo seems to be no problem, why is the full version?)". The next comment was, "He should just allow us to buy the game as a digital ROM at this point..." I know the latter was not your comment, but you did quote it and agree with it. This response is for both quote owners though. I didn't appreciate the over-simplification of why it can't just be released, just because there's a demo; but I was even more annoyed at the demand that I, "should just", do anything. I am over the original emotion, so please understand that I am not responding in anger. I am just trying to clarify, and hope that there's some form of understanding of the REAL issue with the posts. My goal is closure. It's the intention and tone that caused the issues. Stop getting hung up on whether or not anybody asked for a free copy. The polite thing would have been to ask me if I have any plans to sell the ROM and to not make assumptions of how easy it is to get ready, the amount of work it would require once it is ready, or even just consider that there might be a bigger picture. Sadly, this game was unavailable for a couple years before the first cartridge release, because there wasn't a POKEY/HOKEY cartridge available. It killed me, and it saddens me that it's not available now, so I can assure you there's are reasons. That's why this felt like a salt in an open wound. 5 hours ago, plx said: And please, a number of posts doesn't say anything about someone being nice, correct, loyal, clever, the exact opposite of all I just mentioned or whatever... Peace I don't understand where nice, correct, loyal, and clever came in to play. I do realize "newbie" was mentioned. It's not my place to explain that, but I wouldn't focus on that. I believe everybody is welcome, and nobody is outcast-ed for being new. It's the tone that was really intended to be addressed (especially in my original post). These projects are a labor of love, not a full-time job. Some contributors have left the forums, due to people making demands on them. I think the desire is for everybody to remember that there's more to it than Best Buy not having what you want to buy, when you want it. I hope this helps clarify things, so that we can move forward. If there are any actual questions, I welcome a private message to chat it out. I didn't want to post this publicly, because I am not looking to build a case. However, I thought maybe this would be helpful to share, in order to straighten any confusion. Peace
RetroDean66
darryl1970 Just wanted to say I love your game (Popeye). Look forward to it becoming available again someday in either cartridge or rom form, whenever it works out. In the meantime thanks for all your hard work on this and making the demo version available so we can at least get a taste of it. Also enjoyed seeing you on Retro Bliss Gaming's show and talking about what went in to making the game. It was interesting! Just know that if ever does come available again you've got one sale waiting. 3

christo930
Congratulations to Darryl1970 on the upcoming release. It is one of the finest games in the library! Way better looking than any of the PB releases and even compares well with the Nintendo NES release. 1
