ElectricLab
Seeking others who may have a TI Intelligent Terminal 700 machines, or DS990 machines. I recently acquired a TI 700 and am working on getting it to boot. With help from a friend in Italy, I think I am close, and am awaiting a logic level-shifter so I can flash a Gotek drive to the HxC firmware which supports 8" floppy drives. Anyone else out there with one of these machines? I hope to get her going and use a terminal program on it, and hopefully some form of BASIC.

jbdigriz
990/1 here. Has a 64K RAM board instead of the 2 32Ks your terminal has. You'll need to check for the correct ROM loader on the hi-32K board in order to boot off either a real floppy or an emulated drive like a gotek. This is covered in the 771 to 990/1 upgrade manual on bitsavers. I believe there is a dump of the boot ROM there as well. If not, kl99 has a copy I believe. Probably your Italian friend, too, if that's who I think. Possible this has already been done on your machine. Slowly getting mine whipped into shape, but I'm swamped with other stuff as well. Maybe some pics soon, though. Edited January 3, 2021 by jbdigriz
