I was going to make this round 3 weeks long but that would have it ending right after Christmas so let's just make it an even 4 weeks to give everyone a chance to play over the holidays if they wish. Discovered it a few years ago setting up a Mame cabinet, and once I figured it out a bit (mostly the random powerups confused me at first), it became one of my favorites. For better results, watch how the enemies enter the board after one is destroyed. When one dies, they get replaced, and sometimes will dash at you upon entering your zone of attack. If you can always be ready immediately after destroying a target, you will be way less likely to get clipped or blindsided. This one steals parts of sound bits used on the PacMan series, which are also made by Namco. And moving around the board feels similar to PacMan, with a splash of Lock n Chase. 29,200 Gobda 11,800 Low scoring game that gets insanely difficult....not a good combo. Enemies are trying to take the money from your crib (bottom of the screen) to their place (top of the screen). You’ll see 4 thieves plus the red chief. Try to defeat (just touch them) the regular thieves, and avoid the red chief. If you defeat 40 thieves (counter is in the middle), you win the round and move on to the next level. You can press button 1 to drop a weapon to block the red chief and make him move in a different direction. So if he’s gaining on you, drop it. During play, you’ll see 4 question marks appear in the center. Touching one of these will assign a power-up at random. Power ups are – You move really fast, making it easier to run down and squash the enemies It’ll say “Open Sesame” and open the doors at the top. During this one, you can enter the enemies' hideout and retrieve one of your stolen money bags. You’ll grow really big and can now touch and defeat the Red Chief The Red Chief will grow really big and be harder to avoid. While the other 3 power-ups have positive effects, this one is negative. I was in the Mame menu checking controls, and didn't do anything in the game... died, got a game over, and it told me I had 3rd place with 6,400 points. Like Donkey Kong, Frogger is on my bucket list of games to master. I still have a ways to go. Ali Baba and 40 Thieves 17,900. This game is winning me over. Nothing for Grobda yet. I've played it a few times but have gotten frustrated at so often blowing myself up by shooting an enemy tank that's too close to me.
