+atari2600land
OK, this is really a dumb problem I'm having that I shouldn't be having. In this picture, frame counts 293 and 294 have exactly the same scanline count, and does not jump in Stella, but it does on a real Atari 2600. WHY? I've tried all sorts of things to not make it do this, none of which worked, and I've ran out of patience. nosehair19a.asm nosehair19a.bin

Try a Darker shade of Blue for your COLUBK or COLUPF background, does the problem go away? I had a similar issue and this resolved. 12 hours ago, atari2600land said: WHY? +atari2600land
It got a little better but it didn't completely go away.
+atari2600land
OK, this is really stupid. I worked some more on this. And even though the scanline counter drops to 261 at the same place, the picture is still steady at 262 on both Stella and a real Atari 2600. What is going on here?! nosehair19b.bin nosehair19b.asm
+atari2600land
Tried it again, and the jumping came back, on the same program. On the same spot.

Very cool, does it go away completely if you make it an even darker blue or dark black?
