Box, Cart Label, Instruction files for Publishing

Recommended Posts

Good evening..

I just installed GIMP so I can design a box, cart label, etc, for an Atari 2600 game.  Does anyone have any existing files they can send me that I can use as a template?  Or point me to a place where I can get them for Atari?

Gimp will be efficient enough for most labels and small items, but for boxes, you might consider some desktop publishing software, or perhaps even a word processor, to put all you elements together. Possibly a drawing program to create elements, too, if that's your thing.

Hmm good to know.  I'm out of my element here.  Would Scribus be more appropriate?

Yeah I'm looking to design too..  Where that site asks for an image, I need to design that image.

Well, yes. You design the image in Gimp and then you would upload it to this site and it adds all of the texts. I mean, I did this one in Photoshop and it was pretty easy.
Oh, wait. You also wanted to do a box. I found this video as well. It might help you in this process.

OK..  Scribus improved things for me.  I figured out some things, not others. I have not figured out line spacing though I tried. I also need to look into kerning too. Also eyeballed more than I should have..   The inserted image is just a placeholder image that I made with GIMP.
