Even minor-er bug: There's an errant bookshelf outside the sheriff of Bleyloch's house:

Ugh... I snuck a fix for that into the latest build, but it won't take unless the game is started over.

Fortunately the book in question (which you can't reach out there) isn't plot critical. Here's what it says:

Oh yeah, I meant to ask - does the main version on arcade shopper not get updated with the latest version? I had a friend buy the game with a credit card yesterday and he still had the freeze-on-poison bug.

I sent it to him to put up for new purchases, it may not have gotten up over the weekend right away.

Does he need a link to the latest version, or were you able to provide that to him?

Hello All,

Have been really enjoying the game, given my ADD though I keep restarting as I can't decide on what party to stick with (or just a hero)! I was wondering what other people were using for their parties, and I was also curious about what would be considered more difficult in terms of party structure, I would have thought the Hero would have been it but they are pretty strong for the early game comparatively to other parties. The one I have now currently is Fighter, Ranger, Warlock and Wiz. Previously I had a Rogue/Wiz party that I was going to have try to find companions with but I realized that the Rogue/Wiz combo is fairly redundant given that yellow magic covers most of the thiefs special abilities.

Yeah, a single Fighter specialising in melee is the most difficult starting party I've played, and Rogue would be the same kind of pickle.

And I agree Hero is very strong, especially in the early game.

I do think the most difficult start is with a single non-magical class (fighter, rogue).

A major factor in this, though, is just whether you know where various companions are and how they're acquired.  Since a couple of those can be picked up really quick for support, if you do.

Late to the party but I just wanted to say I have a Rogue and a Warlock in a 4-person group and with the way the spellbooks work I definitely wouldn't want to rely on only magic to cover the thief skills. Magic will cover the occasional case, but in particular for unlocking and secret door-finding the Rogue is far from redundant. Also, don't worry too much about starting affinities for spellcasters, they give you a small headstart but you can overcome them pretty quickly in my experience.

Might try the Hero path next if I decide to start over with v2... those companions are looking pretty juicy.

Just to be clear, you can make a 1-man party of any class, and have companions join you. It's not limited to the Hero.

So another question in game, where can one use a homing stone? Everywhere I've tried so far it says not usable here. Otherwise, I ended up restarting the game with just a rogue with the new update, so far have a bard in the party, thinking a warlock would be a good spellcaster then.

There's only a few places they can't be used. One is the iron mines in the deeper level because you can accidentally leave your boat behind and never be able to return.

Is one of those places including the moors where the hound hangs out? Also wondering about the plague town. I'll try it again later tonight once i finish dealing with bank stuff
