Mockduck
Additional semi-release note: On Friday, October 14th, 2022, Atari released updated versions of Asteroids, Black Widow, Breakout, and Centipede Recharged to update them to the newer versions of the game found on some other platforms. This adds things like a "Classic Recharged" mode along with general usability improvements.
Mockduck
On 10/13/2022 at 11:43 AM, Mockduck said: Released 10/13/22 (technically released late last night Eastern time on the 12th): Atari Mania $24.99 One of Atari's bigger releases of the year! Mini-game adventure based on classic 2600 and related games, mashed up together, with an adventure style story wrapper and with pixel style graphics. Pretty darn unique! So, for history's sake, it is worth noting that while Atari Mania flipped open for sale late in the evening Eastern on the 12th, by the morning of the 13th the VCS Store could no longer successfully process a purchase, and the game has been unavailable on the VCS since. Eventually, it will surely get fixed, but for history's sake it is worth noting that while the game technically came out on the 13th on the VCS, it wasn't practically available for most owners until a later date. Mockduck
Released 10/28/22: Heroes of Loot $8.99 The latest release on the VCS from Orangepixel. "Heroes of Loot throws you into an endless dungeon of demons, imps, ghosts, skulls, and cyclops. Survive in the procedurally generated dungeons and as you become a better hero, the dungeon will become a better dungeon." I hear it has multiplayer as well.
Mockduck
Surprise early release! Released 10/29/22: Missile Command Recharged (2022 version) $9.99 (6.99 if you previously purchased Missile Command Recharged I think?) A completely updated version of Missile Command: Recharged that brings the game in line with the rest of the series. The original MC:R was a mobile release done prior to the decision to do a line of Recharged, and was a very different game. If you own the original game on the VCS you are supposed to be able to still download it, but the game is no longer for sale. I will have to dig into the pricing: The new Recharged game is $9.99, but listed for me at 6.99 in the VCS Store, which I think is because I already purchased the first version of MC:R.

I didn't purchase 2020 Missile Command. As I recall Atari gave these games to the Indigogo backers for free. I guess that's why I paid $9.50 Cdn. Not sure if that works out to $6.99 U.S.D. jandb
@tripled79 I confirmed. Atari offered the game to bakers AND it cost 6.99€ for me.
Mockduck
Yes, I have enough other people's reports that I feel comfortable saying the price was $9.99 USD but $6.99 for people who previously purchased the 2020 version of Missile Command: Recharged.

Mockduck
Released 12/16/22: Gunslugs $8.99 Another game by Orangepixel, this one originally released in 2013. My brief time with it feels like a lot like Metal Slug and similar side-scrolling army shooters, local co-op and such as well.
Mockduck
Released 12/20/22: Atari 50th: The Anniversary Celebration $39.99 (CURRENTLY $29.99 FOR VCS OWNERS LIMITED DURATION) It's out! Currently $10 off for something like 24 hours, will update if/when I catch the price update. Also of note: This is a big-ish game, and you need twice the space of the game to install. Maybe check before trying to download. Issues downloading this morning, but seems to have been fixed in recent minutes prior to posting. Easily the biggest game of the year for Atari fans, what needs to be said. Lots of gamer news/editorial outlets putting it as one of the best games of the year. Virtual interactive museum. Lots of Atari systems and games and video interviews, flyers, promo, good stuff. Supposed to work great with the Classic. Jaguar games. You know this one already. MegaManFan
How's Donut Dodo? I haven't made my first purchase yet but it looks like it would be a fun time.

Think of Popeye meets Donkey Kong. It is very fast and tough to play. You can jump over all of the enemies except Stinky. Stinky is too tall.

It's the game I go back to the most on VCS. Really does feel like an arcade game from 83, But more challenging than most

Mockduck
Another game just a few days after the last one! Released 2/21/23: Akka Arrh $19.99 A remake of the original scrapped arcade game, recently brought to the wider public in Atari 50th: The Anniversary Celebration. Dual-level shooter, a bit like a reverse Gyruss maybe. By Llamasoft of Tempest 2000/4000/Polybius/etc fame. NOTE: Expect lots of trippy flashing graphics and general visual insanity, NOT for those sensitive to such things.
Mockduck
Released 2/24/23: A Path to the Princess 3.99 An indie puzzle game that describes itself as "A great game for you to feel smart by solving super simple puzzles usually, also sometimes scratch your head to solve harder levels and mumble about how better you are than this. Enjoy our little grid-based puzzle game for an entire half hour!" Leads me to think it is short. Has a versus PvP mode.

The dev has stated on the VCS Discord that more levels are coming in a future update. Hopefully true.

Has a falling and shooting mechanic a bit like the indie game Downwell if you've ever played that.
Mockduck
Released 3/17/23: Berserk (Atari 2600) $2.99 Atari announced yesterday that they've acquired the rights to Berserk, Frenzy, and ten other unnamed games presumably from the Stern arcade list. Today they are celebrating by releasing the 2600 ROM on the VCS. This is the same ROM available elsewhere, like Stella. Super classic 2600 game!
