Thunderbird98
My coco 2 that I just bought yesterday isn't working anymore. I plug it in and press the power switch, but it just makes a click noise and does nothing. Please help!
mindlord
If I can do it with literally zero experience, you can. I dose it depends on the model, but.... Solder one jumper, pop old ram, socket in the new, pop the Rom, socket in the new.Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk
Thunderbird98
so what are you saying is wrong?
bluejay
@Thunderbird98 First and foremost, have you hooked it up correctly? Next to all stock CoCo 2 models output RF, not composite. You will need to connect it to the RF line of your TV, not the composite line. Unless you have an aftermarket power LED installed you will have no way to know whether it's turned on without hooking it up to a TV. Thunderbird98
It is connected correctly. Im using a NES rf switch because the one it came with didnt work very well. And this all worked yesterday. And it didnt click when I pressed power before. Edited January 29, 2021 by Thunderbird98
MrDave
After its turned on if you carefully type MOTOR ON then press enter...you should hear a faint click.. if you do the machine is working and its a video Issue.. check the 3/4 switch.. make sure your tv is on channel 3 or 4 and does not need to rescan
Thunderbird98
I got a click! That explains a lot. Last night when I first used it, the video quality was really bad. I guess its just the RF unit going bad. Is there a way I can do an AV mod on it?
MrDave
Yes i can be modded for composite or vga.. Make sure all your wires are ok.. nothing loose in the rf box.. .. that your tv tunes to channel 3 or 4 ( make sure coco is one when you scan ypur channels) ..that you connected to vhf not uhf ( if older set) Try skipping the nintendo rf and use a rca wire right from the coco to tv in
MrDave
Take a old rca wire (like the red white yellow ones) Cut one end and hook it to the tv . If it works find or make a adapter.
