Is there a reason we can't get M.U.L.E. anymore?

M.U.L.E. seems like it was a special one of a kind production run some years ago. I'm surprised I don't see it for sale, unless there are some legal issues with it?

I had it about 10-15 years ago, and wound up selling it about 5 years ago. Now that I’m ramping up my collection again I’d really love to have a copy back. Saved an eBay search - don’t really know where else to check. LOL

I think it was atarimax.com that was selling them. Maybe check with them and see if they have any left.

If not maybe (if Albert doesn't mind) I can provide the rom for it as I do have it in my files.

I saw Albert will produce a 5200 cart with a supplied rom and label image for $30. Maybe I can finagle myself a new copy that way. ?

Found this thread regarding M.U.L.E. on the 5200. Apparently it was an EXTREMELY limited run of 10 released through AA and then 12 (or so) more sold directly by the developer. Not sure if it got a second run at any point?

I also would love to buy a copy on cart if it ever became available again, it was one of my favourite games on the C64 especially with four players.

This might be more what you're looking for... about 15 years ago there was an authorized modified version of M.U.L.E. made for use on the an Atarimax 5200 Flash Cart. Was looking through the old forum messages about this, and it was like 15 years ago when he made the last batch of carts and that was going to be the last run, so I’m afraid contacting him will be a dead end either way. ?

It was @Bryan who modified it to work with his special bank-switched cart. It's a 48K game so you can't just put it on a regular 5200 board. But it will work with the Atarimax 5200 SD multi-cart.

Has any progress been made on getting M.U.L.E. produced on an Atari 5200 cartridge?  I would definitely buy one!  I know I could buy the multi-cart, but they are expensive.  Plus, I would prefer to have M.U.L.E. in it's own dedicated cartridge.

 

I grew up playing the game on my C64, and it eventually became my favorite game of all time.  I recently found out that MULE was first produced for the Atari computers.  I don't own one of those, but the 5200 version is pretty much the same as the computer version, just tweaked a bit to work on the game console.  So, getting a 5200 version on cartridge would be wonderful.  😀
