awbacon
It's crazy to think a) Unreal is old enough to drink this year and b) I was 14 when it came out. But damn it's still as good today as it was back in 1998
Lord Mushroom
I haven´t played Unreal, but Unreal Tournament is still great.
wierd_w
I got it working (via wine) on my chromebook just yesterday. Be sure to use the modesetting drivers, and not the i915 drivers, if you have craptastical intel video, like this chromebook has. Also, use the Ulreal Gold version, it has a native OpenGL video driver that plays nice with modern hardware. Buttery smooth 50+fps at full display res, even on this weaksauce hardware. pixelpedant
I have to admit, as much as I already had a 3DFX card when it came out (and bought it immediately, consequently, as what promised to be the definitive native Glide game), I just never could get in to Unreal. For me, it didn't feel like it packed the visceral punch that id's games did. And I consequently couldn't ever enjoy it's feel, as much as it looked nice. I should maybe give it another try, as a throwback, some time. I haven't played it since the early 3DFX era.
