Intl Space Station locator!

#Atari8bit #FujiNet @Bill Kendrick is at it again! This time, he has written a visual tracker for the International Space Station! You can run it on atari-apps.irata.online/Networking/iss.xex

So this is fun but I've noticed a couple oddities. I copied the XEX to my local SD card but when I run it, it seems to be unable to retrieve the ISS location. If I run the XEX from the Irata TNFS site, the ISS location comes up almost instantly.

If I tell the program to track the ISS, it starts to get future locations (to plot a ground track I assume?) but never gets past "1 ..." After a long-ish wait it seems to time out and the default display returns with the pulsating space station symbol.

EDIT: Okay, I left it alone after the apparent timeout but it does appear to be plotting consecutive locations along the ground track so false alarm about the second issue (non-issue, I guess). I do wonder why the XEX doesn't like running from my SD card though.

And now this morning, after loading from my SD card, the program runs fine, updates the ISS position instantly, and even pulls up all the future tracking locations for interpolating the ground track one after another almost instantly.  Must have been some network weirdness last night.

Would be useful to see logs with this kind of report. I've seen myself, sometimes Fujinet gets into a weird state where it's going back and forth between high speed serial and normal speed.  It's like getting a serial error and retrying, but then later it's fine and doesn't do this.  I tried to track down what was going on, but couldn't make sense of it.

Ah, bummer on the 1200xl issues. For me on Incognito 800, what's weird, I can go to divisor 0 for file-IO if I go through the Lotharek splitter, and then to Fujinet. If I go through Fujinet to the SIO splitter, then divisor 0 doesn't work at all. At least divisor 0 works for quite a while until it starts acting flakey again.  I think I still have the caps in those SIO lines, maybe clipping those will help.

How do I know if it's in high speed or normal speed?  I'm having a lot of trouble loading images with my FujiNet (1.5) attached to my 600XL (64K upgrade).  Around 10% load fine, but 90% of the ones I've tried either crash out to BASIC or get stuck in load/reboot/load/reboot loop...

With Fujinet if you run with the usb logging on, I believe it shows what speed it's using.
