How to do bankswitching for 64KB Atari 2600 cartridge

I am trying to build a 64KB atari 2600 cart that uses a GAL to do bankswitching.  The open source design is from GrandIdeaStudio.com.  Here is the link to the schematic http://www.grandideastudio.com/wp-content/uploads/pp_atari2600_64k_schematic.pdf.  The author also supplies the JED file to program the GAL.

 

Has anyone tried out this design before?  Is there like a menu driven program, obviously as a 4KB ROM itself, to help select the banks, thus, the games in a 64KB EPROM?
