Yeah, what Crossbow said. They were just to satisfy an FCC regulation. If you were to use an RF connector instead of composite or something else, though, I think they can help with possible interference. But that's the only purpose they really serve. 

 

If you're using a model 2 Genesis though, the little black plastic spacer will help to keep the 32x stable. You don't want that baby wobbling around. It's not necessary with a model 1 console though.

Since I typically play CD games on the MegaSD, I use the Sega CD power out for the Jaguar  

I ordered this a few weeks ago and completely forgot about it. It came last night and it's working great so far. Thanks for the recommendation!
