I got the black screen of death.

Just started yesterday, I get the green boot up screen, and then darkness. I tried all the troubleshooting tips, and nothing has worked.

 

Long story short, I overpayed for a brand new XBOX Series X. Getting it next week.

Yeah, hopefully that helps people resolve  the issue. I never did get mine working. But, I have a Series X now, so it makes the X1 pointless, but sometime I'll need to fiddle with it some more, hopefully I could sell it away then.

I had this happen to me before. If I remember right holding sync button and the disc eject button together will force the system to start up and safe mode and allow you to do a full restore.

I'll have to check that out because I don't want to waste an otherwise perfectly good X1
