Cobra Kai
Just started yesterday, I get the green boot up screen, and then darkness. I tried all the troubleshooting tips, and nothing has worked. Long story short, I overpayed for a brand new XBOX Series X. Getting it next week.
+Razzie.P
https://www.xboxcircle.com/xbox-one-black-screen-of-death/ That's showing as newly updated, so posting in case there's something in there that'll help you or any else who has to deal with that. Best of luck!
Cobra Kai
Yeah, hopefully that helps people resolve the issue. I never did get mine working. But, I have a Series X now, so it makes the X1 pointless, but sometime I'll need to fiddle with it some more, hopefully I could sell it away then. vintagegamecrazy
I had this happen to me before. If I remember right holding sync button and the disc eject button together will force the system to start up and safe mode and allow you to do a full restore.

I'll have to check that out because I don't want to waste an otherwise perfectly good X1
