pacman 4K turns screen gray on heavy 6er after update to v2.1.1

I updated my plus cart today, and tried to play pacman 4k in the homebrew section. The screen would turn grey, when I launched the game. I turned off the VCS and turned back on, and the screen was still grey. I had to power off and pull the PlusCart to get it to run normally again. I tried the rom again with the same result. I did the latest update and I am running it on a heavy 6er. hope this helps.

My Heavy sixer is broken currently but I could try it presently; I have a new hex buffer chip I tried to put in but having some trouble getting the socket cleared with the braid. 

 

However I have an idea you may be charging the paddle capacitor and not discharging from the description, since the user had to pull the cart and power off to resolve.
