carlsson
Ok, so I figured out how to start one more game... Return of the Fungi - 34823 pts, wave 7 or 8 One thing for sure, TRBB will have a field day keeping track of every score of every game, even if we try to limit ourselves to perhaps a half dozen top games and the rest only credit for playing. AtariSphinx
Kooky Diver: 5,600 Alien Assault: 73,500 Intellidisks: 50,550 Space Assailants: 10,740 Space Assailants addition of falling stars adds some challenge to your standard space Invaders clone. This was quite fun. Edited October 19, 2021 by AtariSphinx Added comment on a few games
AtariSphinx
Cross-Horde: 7,270 Overflow: 2,490 Kooky's Quest: 9,950 Kooky's Quest is interesting to have ability to chose weapons. Overflow is my favorite of the bunch. Reminds me a bit of turmoil and need a bit of strategy on when to shoot each water stream. AtariSphinx
Ramses' Revenge: Level 10 completed This one is not yet posted on Fandal but can be found here. This one does not have a score. There are 10 levels and can be completed/won if finish level 10. May be a good bonus game. Has great music. 3
rra
We love seeing these games that we wrote this year getting some high score gameplay!
rra
Here is a high score tip for Kooky's Quest... You get points every time you hit a monster, so if you choose a weapon that has low hit points (like the knife) then you will get more points because it will take more hits to kill the monster. Of course, the more you fool around with getting up close to a monster to kill it with a knife, the better chance you have of dying. So it is a risk/reward gamble!
+therealbountybob
Had a session: Kooky Diver 4,400 what a calamity! thought touching the clam would kill me but you can loiter in it... ROTF 21,910 game atmosphere sent a tingle through my system - will play more soon Piracy 1621 4/5 trasures - stupidly died taking a screenshot!! Sokoban completed 1st level (has 55) - super menu system for level select Some nice music all round - from Frogger?!
AtariSphinx
Kooky's Quest: 10,500 Game ended with 3 lives left (looks like a certain amount of levels in the game before it ends so using the lower weapons is key as noted above to optimize your score).

The game ends after you get the treasure chest in the last room on the 5th level. Good job! 1
+therealbountybob
Intelidiscs - only played 1 player, looks fun but sort of gave up as first of 2nd enemy types showed up 19,250 - Hope they will make this work on an 800 in 4 player (if possible) not just on XL/XE with the multijoy. Should be great fun in 2+ player mode River Raid on Mars, was expecting just a graphics hack but it has a nice demo style loading sequence and animated title screen and music. did a few bridges 10.730 WAR - mini playfied flickers so badly I didn't want to play it, shame as it looks a good shooter. C'mon guys fix this please! Space Assailants - possibly the best game from the guys, decent single firing invaders game, downisde is the "rain" that is hard to see on the base of the screen leading to disappointing deaths. 11,040 Overflow - 1,850 not as god as Turmoil but not bad

AtariSphinx
Space Assailants: 23,790 I would agree with trbb. Great game but recommend remove the 'mountain range' bottom section or perhaps a color change to help visibility. The rain really adds a nice twist to space Invaders like game.
AtariSphinx
River Raid on Mars: 17,500ish (lost score as fame ended!) One of the best intros on 8-bit. Game play was not much different than a River Raid. I guess this is demo file as my game ended with lives leftover.
AtariSphinx
Cross Bomber : 2,290 Finished level 8 and game ended as shown. Kind of a puzzle game as have to be strategic on which building to destroy next and not miss too many shots. Would like to have seen more levels and perhaps some other elements of challenge that would make this one quite fun. Edited October 24, 2021 by AtariSphinx Added score to text, photo unchanged
AtariSphinx
Sokoban: completed first level also Good puzzle game. Definitely needs some thought so not a good game after a long days work but definitely one to come back to any try to finish every level. Music is great (noticed most of their games have great music) Edited October 22, 2021 by AtariSphinx Photo
carlsson
Played: Agent B.R.D. - trying my best to understand German. It isn't that hard to figure out what to do - collect wi-fi symbols to gain strength, battery to refill your phone. Avoid the baddies, in particular the flashing ones as those are really nasty to touch. Use the ticket kiosks to get train tickets to the next station, in search of the magic smartphone. Sometimes there is an info kiosk that will tell you on exactly which station the phone is located. However I feel that you need to have a good grasp about East German geography or at least a map handy in order to translate city names and regions to where you're expecting to head. Once the time is out, you have lost if you didn't find the phone, which is exactly what I did. Rather hefty on keyboard use since you need to type in the station name verbatim in order to get a ticket. Might play again with the help of a map. Albert - reached level 7. This platformer doesn't have a score, it only counts down how many gems are left on each level. There doesn't seem to be a timer as well, so more like puzzle platformer. Very pretty graphics and nice tune, but I'm torn between "play more" and "can't bother". I didn't see any powerups, and the only thing you can do about the baddies is to avoid them as far as possible. The steering where you need to pick up some speed running before making a jump takes a little to get into, and I can't say I've mastered it anyway. There is no screen to show how far you reached, so little point for screenshots.
+therealbountybob
Also played Albert and reached level 8, looks fantastic, checkout the ladybirds (definitely not ladybugs! and plays well but I agree with carlssons comments above, movent is a bit loose and wooly as is Betty's Issues which looks like m explorer platformer. Both worth a play. Alien Assault was my favourite of today's three I tried. 41,040 level 8 I think. Not sure if you have tp take out the top saucer things or just survive the bombs
