MicroExplorer anyone?

Recommended Posts

I know that the MicroExplorer is not a relative of the TMS9900, but as many TI people are here, I thought I'd ask:  I have a broken MicroExplorer NUBUS board - It worked a bit when I bought it years ago, but it seemed to have a mechanical defect or problem and sometimes went intermittently dead until I bent it a bit.  Unfortunately, this no longer helps and the board is dead.  Now, I totally loved the system and would be very keen on getting a replacement.  Does someone here have one they'd be willing to part with?

Thank you!

Sadly don't have one, or a suitable NUBUS Mac, and probably wouldn't want to part with a Microexplorer if I did. Might trade for an Explorer, Explorer II, or a board set I guess ?. Sounds like your issue might fall to some fairly straightforward troubleshooting easily enough, though, as long as it doesn't involve a broken internal board trace or something. How many layers is a MicroExplorer board, anyway? Really sounds like a bad solder connection or a broken trace or pin somewhere. I'd look for something like that first. If you happen to have schematics, I'd be interested. Don't think they are online anywhere.

Every now and then, I have another look at the board in order to spot the problem, but so far I had no luck.  It is a four-layer board as far as I can tell.

I don't have them and would be interested in any kind of internal technical documentation, too :)
