Cobra Kai
This really irritated me. Especially in a pinball machine, because I'm above average in pinball and every time I would set a masterful score, I'd stop by the next week and of course it's erased! I never confronted the owner about the practice but I rationalized that too large a score would lower gamers willingness to play it. Any truth in that, or do you agree it's BS to do that to your customers?

I think many machines lost the high scores on reboot

I think many machines lost the high scores on reboot Certainly in the 1980's this was true, there's even a Seinfeld episode about it. But, I'm certain by the 90's that some boards had a way to save high scores and internal settings. I know that pinball machines during the period saved scores because I kept track, and I know the arcade shut down all the way overnight. youxia
BS? I loved it, since it was the only chance to get an entry, even if only for a few hours, before the big kids came and pushed you off the board. In any case, "confronting the owner" sounds like you're taking it a little bit too seriously

The MPU boards on pinball machines of the '90s do have 3 AAA batteries to save setting along with the 5101 ram depending on the manufacturer.
