Crazy Climber
Collection update These games ended up running me about $30. Nothing too special here but the price was right and 12 more I can cross off the list... The labels on these are all pretty nice. Some of these are notorious for trashed labels so thats a huge plus that they're all pretty mint ? Originally I saved up about $1000 to get a nice pile of atari carts again so I've now officially hit the half way mark of my start up funds. Once I break $1000 I'll need to slow down considerably since I'll be on more of a budget. Would like to get a few rarer games in the pile here soon though to level things out ? Things happened pretty fast with the first half though so hopefully I'll keep the momentum going. Honestly its been a lot of work though, for every good deal I get there were 10+ negotiations with other people that didn't work out haha (mostly ebay of course, many many hours spent negotiating deals where they had no intention of cutting a deal even though they implied they would, combined shipping isn't a bulk deal, its expected lol) I'm totally fine with that and don't want to rip anyone off (or leave them feeling that way) If I don't get the games there will be another chance. I still have some decent extras to sell too so that will throw some more fuel on the fire! This train won't slow down yet... Currently working out some deals here on AA, several for 20+ carts for me to purchase so we'll see what happens! Until next time (which will probably be soon since I have games in the mail haha) Current collection - 247 games Total invested - $524

Crazy Climber
Collection Update... Just a small little update, I'd call it "the calm before the storm" since I have MANY games in transit currently or waiting for the deals to finalize. I picked up this ratty little King Kong for $12 shipped. It's missing the end label and rough around the edges but so am I so I welcome this misfit to my atari gang! I also decided to part with my instruction manuals. I never really officially collected them but acquired quite a few in my initial lot purchase and the large local sale I scored. I let over 100 of them go for $85 so I will add that back into the fund. That puts my totals at... Current Collection - 248 games Total invested - $439 Stay Tuned...the storm is about to hit!

Crazy Climber
Collection update - First wave of the storm has hit! Got two packages today, one was just a lone tapeworm. It was on the ebay for $8 shipped so I nabbed it... I like the look of spectravision stuff. The second however was a large 50+ game lot from AA member S.BAZ! This lot set me back $300 shipped...now you might say "Climber, thats a lot of money!" but look closely...I was able to get quite a few mid range rarities like Montezuma, Frankie, frostbite, sea hawk and some 20th century fox stuff. Not to mention with the exception of Pressure cooker (have one pending?) I was able to close out my standard Activision set. I think it was a fair price, especially at this stage (getting hard to find people with 50+ games I need) the money I saved on shipping 3 or 4 of these at a time was worth it alone haha ? The post office was really rough on this one...I'm lucky it survived unscathed (although the end label for sears pac man seems to have vanished through the hole somewhere...I wonder who will find it?) Luckily no games seem to have been lost although I guess I should double check the list...I'm pretty sure it was 54 total... I also sold a big lot of doubles (with instruction manuals) for $75. Not much left in my trade pile now but it wasn't really producing any results anyways... That puts my grand total now at... Current collection - 303 games Total invested - $686 Woot Woot! I cracked 300 games!! More coming...
Crazy Climber
Collection Update - Today fort Crazy Climber was bombed by 3 packages. Up first we have a lone Cosmic Swarm that set me back $15. Its in pretty good shape too, definitely the nicest one I've ever owned ? Next we go from the best I've owned to the worst. This ugly little Gravitar set me back $25 and is probably the worst condition game in my collection haha. Thats okay though, this is one of those variations I didn't really want to spend much on, and to get it at the price I want, condition will suffer. Luckily forum member INTVcruise had it up in the marketplace priced just right for my budget. Thanks man!! Next up is a little box that helped me close out Activision standard labels (not to mention beef up my text label assortment) Forum member Gateway hooked me up with these 18 games I needed for $55 shipped. Thanks again Gateway!! (Pressure cooker was also included but I just couldn't wait to put it on my shelf and forgot to put it in the picture!) Do'h!! Did I just buy Shark attack twice?? Yes...yes I did... oooohhhh baby!! Look at those beauties ? Now I just need the blues and "specials" And whats this?? I finally have a combat picture label?? Woah... Starting to run out of space, going to need to reorganize soon, not a bad problem to have though ? Current Collection - 322 games Total Investment - $781 Edited December 4, 2021 by Crazy Climber forgot about pressure cooker!!

Keatah
So cool. The screwhole in the Gravitar looks like the mini-blackhole from a recent dream. Especially because it looks like it has a ring around it. How fitting!

I decided to go all or nothing on the label variations and this was one I was kind of dreading. Paying $75 or more for a $3 red label equivalent sounded lame. I'll swing $25 shipped though ? 23 hours ago, roadrunner said: Shark Attack has 2 different labels. A few of the Apollo games have different labels. Yeah, Im going to get all of them eventually! It was easier to find LARGE lots I can purchase at a discounted rate if I went for the variations too. Got a decent start on them. No Lochjaw for me though, already bought it once back in the day...not dropping that much cash again (or likely much more now, this was 15+ years ago haha) I also updated my wallet list to readers digest LARGE PRINT since I need less games now. Crazy Climber
Collection update We've hit mid storm... Today's package was more about quality than quantity. Although I don't think I got a screaming deal or anything, picking these 5 games up for $150 shipped is probably the best price I'm going to get these days. Even back in the cheaper days I would be hard pressed to find them all for under $100 or so in this condition, bottom line... I'm happy with the purchase ? I guess since OUT OF CONTROL is a R9 I've technically "closed out" Avalon Hill, nice! Crazy Climber
Collection update - Another day, another package...or two...or three? This round starts off with a beat up little Roc n Rope I scored for $10 shipped off ebay. I kind of like hand written names/etc on games. I don't know, reminds me of a time when this atari cartridge was really special to someone. Unfortunately for many years after the NES boom atari carts were really treated like garbage (often literally) I'm guilty of it too, games I used to spend hours playing and organizing just ended up in a crusty box in the basement. I sold/traded all of it one day in high school for about $20 total and didn't think twice. Even my Mom told me I'd regret it (and she's not the type to save things) she knew one day I'd remember how much I used to love them...she was right. I leave the names on... Hernandez, if you're reading this, don't worry, Roc n Rope is safe and doing good now. He's found a new home with lots of friends and he's happy ❤ ROUND 2 - These came from a fellow AA member williamc for the great price of $22.50 shipped! The original price we agreed on was higher but ol willy knocked a few bucks off for some damage to the back of one of them. What a guy!! I probably wouldn't have even noticed, these games look great to me! Very very cool of you man! This lot helped me close out BLACK label US games releases and get me one step close to a complete sears text set (I'm getting pretty close) Thank you! The final installment was a GIFT...yes a GIFT!! WHAT!!?? I know, Im speechless too...these are some really good ones... No, they're not repros, these are the real deal!! I'll ask him if he wants to be mentioned in this topic or not next time we talk but all I can say is wow...thank you so much!! THANK YOU!!!! The total is almost at my threshold (haha, actually have that one on the way) before I start a tighter budget and I still have several games coming...looks like I went a little over! Thats okay though, I'm not in the red now or anything and so far have been very happy with the prices. The thing I'm most happy about is it looks like a decent collection of atari 2600 games can still be acquired at a fair price these days...with a little...or sometimes a LOT of help from my friends on Atariage! Thanks everybody! Current collection- 335 games Total Invested - $963 Edited December 8, 2021 by Crazy Climber

In general, I’ve never paid over $200 for any individual item in my collection that I can recall. As such, I still don’t have any of these that you mention above and probably never will. I can’t complain too much though. I’ve acquired some amazing pieces throughout the years at reasonable to great prices. Of course starting 30 years ago helped!
Crazy Climber
Collection Update - Got a few more yesterday. First up, when a xonox double ender you don't own yet is available for $10, you purchase said xonox double ender! Ive always liked these but unfortunately I've acquired most of the common ones now. Not to thrilled about dropping $50 or even $100 on the others so this might be it for awhile on xonox Single enders were always uncommon but they seem to be even MORE uncommon now, I'm not in a rush on those, low priority I guess... Next up is one of the cartridges that are going to nickle and dime me to death in the long run haha. Bank Heist... Just uncommon enough to not really be in someones "duplicates" pile and is hard to find at a decent price these days (like under 10 bucks) I ended up nabbing this one for $14 shipped, not bad It's in great condition too! The shipping of individual cartridges is going to add up quick though...gotta watch that...I need a lot of games like this (time pilot, gyruss, mr do, frontline, cross force, etc...) Man oh man do I hate the end labels on some of the FOX games...yuck... Now, the following four games I spent $21 shipped on. Did I get a good deal? No, not really, especially since most are in rather poor condition and untested but it was the last mythicon, data age and CBS games I needed to complete the set and not having to pay individual shipping charges on each one was nice. It is what it is haha The last score of the day was from my buddy @Trade-N-Games Been a long time since I put an order in with Jason. It all started when I was trying to complete my atari Text label collection. Did you know people are paying like $15 to $20 for a TEXT label Fun with numbers?? WTF?? As far as I knew that game was pretty common. Don't believe me...take a look... https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=fun+with+numbers+atari&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Complete=1 Well, trade N games had a more realistically priced one for $4 so I grabbed it, as long as he was shipping me something I snagged a few other common games I needed to fill some holes in my wall. Total ended up running me $78 shipped which is fair for an online store, they need to pay the rent! The games are all in excellent condition too. I'm happy with them That puts my grand total at... Current collection - 349 games Total invested - $1049 Looks like I blew through my allotted "start up" cash pretty fast...but I'm having too much fun so I decided to extend it a little. 1k was kind of a generic number anyways and I've found some good deals (on the way) that I just couldn't pass up haha. Until next time (tomorrow?)

Crazy Climber
Collection update Big storm coming to MN soon I guess (at least what they call a big storm these days, back when I was a kid...oh nevermind) but luckily these slipped through before my corner of the world shuts down for the weekend... Porky's I'm down to hunting the 20th fox games individually, I only need a few more and I'm surprised I ever found this one in a lot but at $8 shipped its no big deal. Earth dies screaming This is one of those "nickle and dime" games I was talking about. Just rare enough to not be under 10 bucks haha. This one set me back $17 shipped, I think thats about the best I could do. Love the name, hate the end label.... Come on 20th century fox, you are better than this ? On to the big box from fellow AA'er @atari181 This box set me back $102 shipped and is chock full of variations I needed, we've got text, sears, blue Activision, etc and the gem of the lot "Fun with numbers picture label" Thank you very much atari181, this lot packs a nice punch to my collection! This here fun with numbers is one of the tougher picture label games to acquire. This ones a little beat up but the price was right! Well, thats it for now, until next time! Current collection - 372 games Total invested - $1176 We're gonna need a bigger boat...

Crazy Climber
Collection update! Well, the storm is coming to an end and had a busy weekend as the packages trickled in at a steady flow! Up first is a personal favorite of mine Miner 2049er ? Looks like this dirty guy spent a little time in the mines himself but should clean up nice. I struggled to find this one in a lot and figured $15 shipped was about as good as its going to get. Welcome home Miner, now I just need to find a good deal on your brother! Buying Miner made me impulse buy this threshold to beef up my Tigervision game. I don't think $30 shipped was a great deal or anything but I wanted it so I bought it. This is pretty much the grand finale of my speed collecting so why not? This next game isn't valuable but is seemingly damn hard to find. Sears checkers! Found one that was listed as tele games (not as checkers) and as far as I know, it was the ONLY one on ebay. $9 shipped? No problem! Next up is a game that must have went up considerably in the time I haven't been actively collecting... Sentinel! This one was uncommon but never a $50+ game as far as I remember. I offered an ebay seller $30 shipped and he accepted so another harder to find one is scratched off the list! I'm not sure I've ever even played this one... Up next we have a fantastic lot from AA member @Ballblaɀer!! Lots of uncommon stuff I needed in this lot and everything was sold to me at the great price of $71 shipped! Also, ballblazer being the awesome guy he is threw in some free NOS labels!! What a guy!! Thank you so much for these games man! Final package was a big one. I got the following PILE of games for about $93 shipped! Wow, what a deal! Too bad I only needed these... Totally worth it though and the extras I sell will give me some more cash to play with for more games for me! Have a few more packages coming but time to slow down a bit. Was a fun ride the past 6 weeks ? Current collection - 404 games Total investment - $1424 (Ouch! ?)
