long time ago, back in the early '80s, i wonder if i still have it laying around someplace on cassette or old printout, i write a very simple (simple now, but back then complex) News-Generating-AI program for the TI99 in X/Basic, i filled it at the time with all the local and world events, and list of everything famous at the time, and it would randomly generated News Headlines in like stock ticker type printout along with weather and other tidbits on a screen that look very similar to a local community cable news channel, one of those just plain text with limited graphics layouts, no video, and then i hooked it up to powerful UHF transmitter in canada you could broadcast your own signal on any unused channel without a license as long as it was under a 1 mile radius, but i was of course living near the local CBC news station, they picked it up, and did a short community program about it, i wonder if its buried somewhere on old beta tape in the archives, anyway, long story short, it was very close at times in predicting real news events, coming up with random headlines that then happened!

maybe -- one thing i want to try out once a secure my own place and move my things for storage into it. - i ordered a tipi and raspberry but never got even a chance to unbox it, its still waiting for me untouched in storage along with a few other cool new ti99 items.

Just a quick update, I gotten setup a new twitter, so follow me on there if you are a TI99 on Twitter , and I also setup a small 'GoFundMe' for those willing to support me a bit to help secure a roof over my head, and I also setup a Patreon which once i am back on my feet, will be releasing various retro items on there on an ongoing basis, as i start to work on new projects. Dropping in, I been busy promoting my X (Twitter) account: https://x.com/bowser_garyopa as I try to built up things in my life, enough to hopefully rent a place, and get to doing some cool work, and I been going 3 times a week to physiotherapy to get my left leg treated, and the local Ontario Govt. here since I am on welfare as put me back to school on every Thursday to better my skills to get myself a job, ugh, 54 years old and dealing with a bunch of twenty-somethings and learning things in school I already know like python which I can code in my sleep. So that leaves me basically, only Tuesday and my weekends to relax.

 

But, when I heard the news that Atari bought AtariAge, I thought I would come over here and make sure everything is still running ok as this is were basically all the 99'ers are, hopefully nothing will change.

Yes, you can share your videos, and a link to the game files. you can't upload them (at least not yet on X), and videos are limited in length as well, but you can link to youtube ones if they are longer. Anything TI99 related you can share. Looking forward to seeing you post your work. Thanks.

Crazy Canadian #Thanksgiving weekend here. For me, I am glamping as they call it. Toronto Hydro turned off the electricity at the place I have been crashing at since gaining my freedom at the end of May. So now, I am living and working via my CyberPower UPS with a USB Led Lantern and two Power Banks and my RCA Viking Tablet that got returned recently from my #SeaTac prison property. Other bad news is the actual tenant is being evicted on October 23rd, so I am in very urgent need to secure my own bachelor apartment before then or I will look like a Google Campus Employee living in a tent packed with technology. So everyone please remember this thanksgiving about my #GoFundMe https://gofund.me/26046b13 all your help is much appreciated and let's pray my next update will be photos of my own little private pad and not a tent in Allan Gardens like all the #homeless here. At least no matter what I have my freedom & health and even more recently I have been able to reconnect with my ex-wife and our son. So lots to be thankful for this long weekend, all I want now is some #PumpkinPie to enjoy this Sunday for dinner.

As a sub-tenant, you would not have standing (since I assume that your name is not on the head lease) to do this, but you can strongly encourage the "actual" tenant to bring an action before the Landlord and Tenant Board.

 

This may (will very probably) be unsuccessful, but it can delay the eviction until the matter is heard by the Board -- probably several months at least. Of course that will not impact Ontario Hydro's decision to terminate service. 

 

Note that I am not a member of the Law Society of Ontario and this is not legal advice.

Yes, it does take a while, but this action has been ongoing for over a year with actual tenant, i didn't find out until recently when they came to the door with the final notice of order to remove, before that actual tenant was lying to me and keeping me in the dark, that he owed over $19k in rent, of course I knew things were going wrong when Toronto Hydro turned off the power back on September 25th, and would not turn it back on telling me he owes almost $2200 in hydro, which again like over a year of non-payments, so I been looking for a place non-stop since the power outage, hopefully something comes together soon for me, i went to see a place yesterday, but it turned out to be shit hole, could not believe they wanted $1300 per month for place that was not even possible to be rented legally. The Toronto market is horrible with people renting out half a bedroom, or living room with no private space, or even worse a hallway or closet, its crazy here.

Yes, like I mention it does take a while, they have over 38k cases backlogged, but this one been going thru the courts for a while, the only blessing is that actual tenant just happens to be now in israel and is one of canadians stuck over there due to the war, so he trying to remotely ask for extension to give him time to get back, but since the Canadian Armed Forces is planning to do an airlift by the end of week and Air Canada planning on flying the canadians home from greece soon afterwards, does not look like he be stuck there pass the deadline of 23rd.

 

Anyway, just have to tick along and keep on searching for good place. everything will work out in the long run.

Step 1 is now completed.

As many of you know I have been in urgent need for a proper permanent roof over my head since my return to land of freedom on May 25th.

Lucky, since then until today, I was able to crash at my friend's place as he was away in Israel but recently the electricity was turned off at his Toronto apartment where I was, but no big deal, I was surviving thru that as you have seen from my previous posts.

But as you are all very aware there is now the ongoing horrible Israel Gaza War and my friend was one of the lucky ones to be able to get airlifted out by the Canada Military this weekend, and he is now on an Air Canada flight back to Toronto from Greece so of course he needs his apartment back.

Which brings me to tonight, I am now staying at this nice airbnb in Richmond Hill, thanks in part to everyone that has recently donated to my gofundme

After I recouped this weekend as it was a crazy jammed pack with a lot of other good things happening, I will fill you all in soon on Step 2 which will be occurring after my short stay is over here at this airbnb which lasts for 8 nights.

And it's more exciting great news. It's taken a lot of work, but staying positive each day and surviving thru it everything is allowing it to finally come together slowly.

Yes, its always been problems over there, just more recently now we have social media to help fuel the flames of war, before we had to wait until the 6pm evening newscast, and even then only had the people in the household to argue and discuss about it, now the smallest event is discussed by billion or more people at once on twitter and other platforms with alot of events twisted out of reality. I am glad at least my friend was able to get airlifted out by Canadian Armed Forces, but he was one of lucky ones, there still many other Canadians stuck over there some in Gaza itself, and no way to get home.

It's been even longer than that since the name Palestine is Anglicized pronunciation of Palestina which is what the Romans call the place where the Philistines lived.

Hmm historically we can go back to 8000 BC for Mesopotamia.

After all of these people in those lands were part of Mesopotamian and all the tales told were ripped off from them, including the king of the gods named Anu the sky god.

Noah, Sampson, Moses, Job, David vs Goliath, and many others  are all tales orginally from Mesopotamia stories told thousands of years before the first Jew was ever born.

Which is odd considering all those people were from the same tribes later who are now fighting today.
