Nall3k
SNES controller isn't working, cord isn't damaged, took it apart, nothing damaged inside, cleaned the motherboard (wasn't dirty to begin with). Any suggestions or ideas as to why it wouldn't work? Tested another controller and it works fine, so it can't be the system or socket. Tanooki
Some kind of break in the line with the cord is fairly possible from within, maybe stretched inside or wire popped from either end of the plug. Nintendo wisely made them in the day swappable from a simple white plastic plug. I'd try that next, swap the cord from another controller you know works. IF that still fails, then it comes down to a bad solder joint on the jack for the cable into the board, a cold trace, or a chip just gave up life inside all which I'd call increasingly rare in that order.
Nall3k
I bought a replacement and am sending the broken controller to someone who fixes them and sell them on the side. Thanks for the reply!
